Michelle Malkin Weighs In. Kind Of. Sort Of. Well, She's Sad...

HARRIET MIERS WITHDRAWS: RELIEF
By Michelle Malkin

By Michelle Malkin · October 27, 2005 08:57 AM

"What a relief. Sad, pensive, what-a-waste relief. Not happy-joy-joy relief."

And that's it. That's it from the mega-hits-per-day Michelle. "Sad" and "pensive". Included of course are the obligatory links to sites that actually have something to SAY about Miers withdrawing her name from consideration, and is that what Michelle has BECOME, or is it what she WAS all along?

Shooting The Messenger is of course in deference to the age-old sobriquet of killing the bearer of unfavorable news, and we do spend a lot, or most of our time criticizing the mainstream media as well as the hive-think of blogdom for terribly written articles, and praise is dolled as praise is due, but for certain blogs in particular...folks who should be telling us a tad more of what they feel and not just the headlines...it is impossible to make heads nor tails because all we get are one-liners, and touchy-feely-smoochy-woochy one-liners at that.

So when a syndicated columnist and television personality tells us she is sad and pensive, that's a good thing. So when a syndicated columnist and television personality tell us she's sad and pensive and NOTHING ELSE, that's a ridiculous thing.

Anyways, here's the list she so graciously provides...Hugh Hewitt of course is quoted, and that makes me want to hurl because kissing ass should be an art-form and not so blatantly in your face:

Blogger reax: [oh how cutesy is THAT...reax. Pass me the bucket]

Red State's Mike Krempasky: "Ok everyone - back to the barracks, let's get ready to get behind a nominee we can support."
Ed Morrissey: "Now can we nominate a candidate whose qualities and track record presumes we control the Senate?"Scott Ott has already fired off a spoof: "Miers Withdraws to 'Spend More Time with Humans'"
Bulldogpundit at ABP: "It's time to move on from the internal squabbles about her nomination. We'll see quickly enough if the President has learned his lessons from this error and nominates a supremely qualified (and properly vetted) conservative jurist in the mold of Scalia and Thomas, as he promised in 2000 and 2004. I trust that he will."
Jonah Goldberg: NO GONZALES. That is my only advice to Bush right now. No Gonzales, a thousand times no Gonzales.

Mega-ditto that. [Michelle actually comments!!!]

Patterico is off the ledge.
Mark Coffey is rounding up reax. So is Pundit Guy Bill Nienhuis.
Howard Bashman highlights PFAW's crowing.

Hugh Hewitt:
I think Ms. Miers has been unfairly treated by many who have for years urged fair treatment of judicial nominees.
She deserves great thanks for her significant service to the country. She and the president deserved much better from his allies.

And I'll comment upon Mr. Kiss Ass himself, and remind him that someone is only treated UNFAIRLY when lies or distortions of fact are heaped upon them. MOST...and I'll figure that as 99% of ALL criticisms of Mz Harriet derived from the ludicrous nomination itself, and fanned to a fair-thee-well by her OWN inane remarks and positions. So what then, we DON'T criticize folks on OUR side? Isn't that what keeps us ABOVE the loony-libs? The hive-mind wasn't in sync this time so it pissed you off bigtime, Huey?

Christ on a crutch but this man is dreadful.
