Weathered the assault? She was totally, 100% UNACCOUNTABLE. Of course she weathered it. She was the unelected co-chair that hated the military, despised anyone not a Che-worshiper, had infantile ideas about pretty much everything and screwed to hell pretty much everything she touched. No one pays a lot of attention to what happens during Take Your Wife To Work day, but she was sooooooo horrid one couldn't help but take notice.
She was the guy's ugly little spouse. The loons thought it cool that she dabbled at being Queen. And scrupulously dependable? To whom? Mainstream NY'ers? The far left is seething over her refusing to damn her previous voting record concerning Iraq, and she's been castigated to hell and back for donning ceremonial blackface.
