Classic Idiotarians

"Keeping in mind that handguns generally offer poor incapacitation potential, bullets with effective terminal performance are available in all of the most commonly used duty pistol calibers—pick the one that you shoot most accurately, that is most reliable in the type of pistol you choose, and best suits you likely engagement scenarios."

I won't reveal the name of the classic idiot who wrote the above, because such stupidity shouldn't be encouraged. Neither should stringing together as many cliches as can fit in a declarative sentence. Here's the skinny on why the sudden rush to rename handguns as popguns. Since we can't carry concealed rifles, well, we could but it'd be one helluva bother, we pack pistols and revolvers. The same pistols and revolvers that have been stopping targets dead in their tracks for quite a while now, but if you aren't in the business of selling pistols and revolvers, an even more lucrative trade is teaching people how to use woefully underpowered firearms. Because. you see, without spending thousands of dollars on some John Dillinger Jr. wannabe's gun-camp you're just dead meat that hasn't gotten the memo. Modern ammunition has made deadly weapons even deadlier, and in the hands of someone who hones his or her skill on a regular basis, a 10 mm or .357, or .40, 0r .45 caliber handgun is more than sufficient protection against the creatures that see us as nothing more than walking ATM's or sperm depositories.

Take a good look at what this classic idiot said. Handguns offer poor incapacitation, but effective terminal performance.

Translated: Gee but you are really fucking dumb and without us around to decipher this shit you're a dead man.

Baffling them with bullshit has long been favored over dazzling them with brilliance, especially in the firearms trade, because one need not BE brilliant to understand a fairly simple concept. Handguns are effective weapons. Load them with modern ammo, practice as often as possible, and you are good to go.

But that won't make you rich and famous. And don't dare ask 99.999% of these classic idiots how many gunfights they've been in. Not that each and every one of us wouldn't like to find that elusive magic bullet, but those who have had the misfortune of exchanging leaping lead and are around to talk about it, MUST have been doing something right using the underpowered popguns that the experts say offers poor incapacitation but yadda yadda.

Handguns of sufficient caliber are very, very, powerful weapons. Do your job and they will do theirs.
