Stray (?) Bullet Kills Woman, Little Girl...

DENVER - "A woman in her mid-30s and an 11-year-old girl were shot and killed by the same bullet during a New Year's Eve party according to Denver Police.

Denver Police Chief Gerry Whitman said the bullet appeared to have come from a high-powered rifle and was shot from 200-300 yards outside of the home. There were about 15 people inside the house at the time.

Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the victims were shot inside a home at 4708 West 11th Avenue.

Whitman said the bullet pierced the outside wall of the house, and hit the woman in the head. She died instantly. He said the bullet kept going and hit the girl in the side. She died later at a hospital. Both victims were in the living room of the house.

Police did not have any information to release about a possible suspect."

Ballistics examinations may determine the caliber of the weapon used, but to law enforcement and the Yellowstream Media anything with more oomph than a BB-Gun is "high-powered", so this tells us next to nothing.

Rounds can do some strange things but it appears that the woman was seated, with the bullet striking her then exiting with enough remaining energy to inflict a severe wound on the little girl.

More than tragic. This, is why, there is a death penalty.
