LOS ANGELES - "City and civil rights leaders condemned a gun maker for naming a line of high-end pistols after the police department's Special Investigation Section, an undercover unit with a history of fatally shooting suspects.
Critics said they were concerned that the marketing of the guns - which feature "SIS" imprints on their muzzles - seems to play off the Special Investigation Section's record, which includes payouts in civil rights lawsuits.
"It is very disturbing," Councilman Jack Weiss said. "If any member of the public is shot with one of these guns or, heaven forbid, a cop is shot with one these guns, what would be the explanation?"
Explanation? Um, Councliman Weiss, do you by chance think that naming it SIS makes the bloody thing some sort of super dee dooper elephant-gun?
Lord of hosts but these dolts can be tasking.
