This has to remain the current top dog of personal defense ammunition.I know I've featured the Federal HST plenty often, but Crazy Jay has been working overtime in shooting them through old car windows and doors and uncalibrated gelatin. Uncalibrated because it's a pain in the ass for him to do, and we're not interested so much as how deep the round penetrates simulated pig thigh, but the integrity of the bullet, it's expansion characteristics, accuracy, and the final diameter.
It expands well through 6 layers of heavy denim and both the .40 and .45 calibers haven't had a misfeed or misfire and remain one of the most accurate practical bullets we've seen.
Click on the picture to get a better feel for those sharp cutting edges. This round isn't going to simply push elastic tissue aside, it's going to slice clean through.
