"How often to special forces type get to shoot...?"
During specified training cycles, about 3000 rounds per day. This can go on for 2-3 weeks then there's a break in the action to concentrate on other aspects of training. During this "lull", the round count can even dip below 1000 a day. The lowest round count occurs when the shit hits the fan and its off to war. Then it can become quite difficult to shoot as often as needed to maintain the necessary skill levels.
