So Tell Me How This Could Have Been Prevented...

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — "A man shot and killed his wife at their apartment, apparently thinking she was an intruder who was breaking in, police said.

Clayton County police found Andrea Henry laying in the walkway in front of their apartment just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. She had been shot in the neck.

Andrea Henry and her 22-year-old daughter were entering the apartment when her husband, Horace Henry, 60, fired a shot from a .38-caliber revolver through the slightly open door, Clayton County Deputy Chief Tim Robinson said.

"He apparently didn't know that she and their daughter had walked outside for a few minutes," Robinson said. "When he heard someone at the door, he said he called out, 'Who's there?' but he said no one answered. He thought she was an intruder and fired his gun."

Andrea Henry was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where she was pronounced dead.

Police believe the shooting was accidental. Horace Henry, who has not been charged, is disabled and retired."
