Brazil Set to Reject Proposed Gun Ban

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - Brazilians were soundly rejecting a proposal to ban guns in a referendum Sunday, striking down the bid to stem one of the world's highest murder rates following a campaign that drew parallels to the U.S. gun control debate, according to partial official results.

There ARE no parallels to the Brazilian-US gun control debate, unless you count the ones derived from the lunatic imaginings of the biased liberal media. EVERY time that US citizens have been allowed to vote on gun control, they've thrashed it soundly, so I guess there IS something of a comparison, but what they'll NEVER get is the fact that ILLEGAL guns need to be controlled, and the PENALTIES need to be stiffened for using firearms ILLEGALLY.

That's hard to do in a land dominated by socialism, or in our case Ted Kennedy clones, because the minorities that would use weapons to rob and rape and kill are their loyal constituents. Bad guys need to go to JAIL. Good guys need to PROTECT themselves.

How hard is this to comprehend?
