China warns HIV cases could exceed 10 mln by 2010

So what are they doing about it, save for issuing a warning? And who are they warning? Tourists? Wal-Mart? Their own people?

BEIJING (Reuters) - China, once accused of being slow to acknowledge the threat of AIDS, could have as many as 10 million HIV carriers in five years if no effective preventive measures are taken, state media said on Monday, echoing a grim UN warning.

There is is! Again! The GRIM warning. Wowsers but that must mean it's serious.

"If no preventive measures are taken..." Um, does that mean that Chinese folk shouldn't have sex with people infected with HIV? Does that mean that Chinese folks should use condoms? What in the blue blazes DOES that mean? This is 2005, right? AIDS has been with us for several decades, right? And after all that time China is saying what? That people shouldn't become infected?

Is the government funneling some of that Wal-Mart/French/sweatshop-driven cash into educating the public, or is the new SUPER COUNTRY spending it's resources on warning that if it doesn't spend it's resources people will get sick? No fuckee if you see open, runny sores on stick figure that can't get off from bed?

Sorry, but you're better off asking a moonbat what this is all about because it's totally beyond me
