Winchester Ranger-T Update

"The exceptional performance of Winchester handgun ammunition makes it the choice of many law enforcement officials. Ranger Law Enforcement ammunition has a hollow-point nose that expands into six-petal configuration. Its reverse-tapered jacket has been strengthened to form a bigger mushroom. The expanded petals also form a right angle from the shaft of the bullet for a super terminating effect. Overall, it has excellent penetration and weight retention through a variety of barriers. This load is perfect for home protection. 50 rounds per box.
Available in: .40 cal. S&W 155 grain. JHP."

Emails to Winchester returned information that the ammunition being made available to the general public is NOT the newer improved Ranger-T. Regardless of what outfits such as Cabela's are advertising. Winchester has mega-stockpiles of the previous incarnation of Ranger-T, especially in 155 grains, it is ammunition I've found to be accurate in a variety of platforms and remains neck and neck with Federal HST as a confident manstopper. Until some field results become available regarding the new version, I for one will keep using the older product whenever Federal supplies dry up as they've been doing as of late.

Just don't become even more confused and purchase Winchester SXT because some gunshop idjit said it was the civilian Ranger and just as good. SXT flat out sucks and that's that. Reason? Winchester needed something not even close to their premium product so as to compare how flat-out terrific the stuff they sell to LE is over what the peons can get. Yeah, they're doing the same thing with the new product but what works, works, regardless of how often they treat us as bottomfeeders unworthy of protecting our lives with the same degree of certainty afforded LE.
