It's Official...It's Safe To Leave Harriet Alone With Married Women...

Politics News Article Reuters.com

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Monday brought in six former justices of the Texas Supreme Court to voice support for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers and try to quell grumbling about her from conservative Republicans.
The event marked an attempt by White House officials to change the subject to Miers' legal credentials from last week when the administration got bogged down in a debate over her religion.
The six former justices, all of them men, said they had worked with Miers while she was a lawyer in Dallas and they endorsed her Supreme Court nomination.

"I'd trust her with my wife and with my life," former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice John Hill told reporters on the White House driveway after a meeting with President George W. Bush.

Huh? He'd trust her with his wife? Whoa, just hang on a gull-darned minute there, hoss, what are you trying to say here? I mean, from all accounts Mz Miers seems to be a fair hand with a Lady-Smith, but is this just Texas-lingo or is there else we should know about Harriet?

And damn it all, why am I the only conservative blogger who posts stuff like this? A couple weeks back Fox news was trying to hook up Condi with one of their avowed lesbian talking heads, and I jumped all over the thing but the silence from blogdom was deafening.

Is everyone else too busy tracking down college kids with bags of fertilizer to fit in a juicy tidbit now and again, or are some things just too frickin' taboo for rightwingers to even think about?

Not that I give a swell toot if Condi is straight, gay, or flexible, or why a judge felt it necessary to say that Mz Miers is known to be trustworthy around married women, but sheesh, with all the flat out crap that gets published you'd think that now and again someone, somewhere would feed us some off the wall interesting stuff even if just for a break in the action.

Okay, so sue me if I think that the human element is as important as most anything else. (you mean you LOVE gossip)
