Miers Backed Race, Sex Set-Asides
She Made Diversity A Texas Bar Goal ...shouts the Washington Post headline, and the fact that diversity has nothing to do with race or gender, that saying so renders it both sexist and racist. But it would never even enter into their little minds that people can look perfectly alike and be as diverse as say, a person of Norwegian descent living in Schenectady, NY, versus one living in Norway, so we pass this off as just another loony-left misunderstanding of even the basics of human nature.
WHENEVER color or gender are singled out for special attention it is just as wrong as the KKK having a say in the matter. Case closed.
And as far as Harriet "approving" of quota systems; "As president of the State Bar of Texas, Harriet Miers wrote that "our legal community must reflect our population as a whole," and under her leadership the organization embraced racial and gender set-asides and set numerical targets to achieve that goal."
All we see in the above is an opinion written from her official position within the Texas bar, and not necessarily reflective of what her personal position might be.
Because if it IS her personal opinion, and she DOES favor a quota system of ANY kind, then she is unsuitable to be a Republican President's nomination for any judicial consideration, and should withdraw immediately or BE withdrawn if this is something the President is unaware of.
And if he WAS aware? Please now, what IS W aware of these days?
