Today marks the 5th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen. A small speed boat rammed into the side of the Cole as it sat anchored for refueling, killing 17 crewmen, while the Yemenese onshore celebrated, claiming the Cole as their prize.
Fighting off scandal upon scandal, President William Jefferson Clinton did not respond to this attack and his inaction most certainly emboldened terrorist groups the world over. They figured the bottom line was this: punch the US in the eye and all they'll do is launch a few million dollar missiles into the dessert, blow up a tent or two, and that's a small price to pay for killing Americans.
Precisely HOW a gaggle of towelheads in a motorboat could take on an Aegis Class Cruiser still puzzles me, but the investigation was launched by the Clintonista's so who really knows what those dysfunctional morons swept under the rug or missed.
