Police officer charged with DUI
"A Chattanooga police officer has been relieved of duty pending an internal affairs investigation after he was arrested for driving under the influence.
Three-year veteran Josh Turner was off duty when he crashed his 2004 Mercedes into a pole at 700 Georgia Ave. about 1:45 a.m. today, said police spokeswoman Lt. Kim Noorbergen. The pole fell and struck the windshield of a 2008 Honda Element sport utility vehicle traveling south on Georgia Avenue, she said.
No injuries were reported, Lt. Noorbergen said.
Officer Turner was arrested at the scene, she said.
The police department cannot release any more details because of the internal affairs investigation, she said."
You know, there really SHOULD be a way for us to force the hired help to open up the books. It isn't as if we're asking for half a cup of warm fat and the head of Alfredo Garcia here. Just treat them the same way they treat the ones in charge...we the people.
You've really got to go back to the days when Kings and Queens (no, not Barney Frank) were so above the law as to be a law unto themselves, or, pick any communist or facist regime of modern times, to find people believing that they are more important and therefore more deserving of special treatment.
