Another Call For Harriet To Withdraw...

Editors on Harriet Miers & Supreme Court on National Review Online

..."The president, moreover, surely does not want to risk looking less than strong and steadfast. The prudent course is for Miers to withdraw her own nomination in the interests of the president she loyally serves. The president could then start over. Both he and his party would probably benefit from having the clear fight over the direction of the courts that only a new nominee would allow. But for that to happen, some conservative senators are going to have to send a diplomatic message to the White House."

I HATE withdrawals. But listen up for a sec; W couldn't look less strong if he followed Ted Kennedy around and learned every last wimp-out trick in the book. He's coming across as a spoiled little rich boy that doesn't share, and has had the boldfaced audacity to tell us that it's his call because he brought US to the oval office. We all know that if Harriet had ANYTHING on the ball she'd have vetoed herself from the get-go, but she's so in love with the President that anything he says is direct from the burning bush so she's not clocking out unless he tells her to.

So then, will he? Tell her to? Not with his hackles all up he doesn't, so it's back to square one unless someone takes the lady aside and plays her the tapes of him dissing Laura for making him do it in the first place.

See what happens when Rove gets preoccupied?
