Another true story featuring Wally World.
Two policemen are heading back to the house after their shift. One reminds the other that he has a rifle on layaway at a Wal-Mart along the way so they stop to pick it up. Both policemen enter the store, in full uniform, mind you, and the purchaser begins to fill out the necessary paperwork but is told by the Sports Department associate that it might take a while to complete the transaction because the manager on duty was busy at the moment.
Might take a while for what? Well, Wal-Mart, as well as most other retailers these days, has a policy that forbids the transfer of firearms to a purchaser while inside the store. Doesn't matter a lick if you're carrying a .45 on your hip, or are an officer of the law, rules are rules.
So both policemen patiently waited until the manager arrived to walk the rifle out of the store and place it in the trunk of the squad car.
Right next to the 12 gauge shotgun.
And, courtesy ot the ambulance chas...strike that...legal profession...the world was made a little safer for all of us.
