Bargain Priced S&W 500
So this guy I know gets the opportunity to acquire a slightly used S&W .500. 8 and 3/8 inch barrel. Lots of stores are offering brandy new ones for around $900 out the door, but he couldn't pass this up for $600, plus a few boxes of odds and ends rounds.
Former owner shot several different rounds from it and declared the gun to be too powerful for his tastes, and was about to toss it into the back of his safe until a friend came along who happened to be looking for one.
Only bummer is that it's a 5-shot revolver but hell, if 5 of those bad boys aren't doing the deed then a 6th probably wouldn't matter all that much. The gun itself balances perfectly and seems to be quite accurate but further testing is necessary to see precisely what fodder makes the closest holes.
