".. two officers approached the young man near a bus stop. Though the man was suspected of being armed, the officers did not see a weapon, so at first they planned to restrain him.
When the man turned to face them, the officers ordered him to get on the ground and show his hands.
The warning, Kimerer said, was heard by several witnesses.
Instead of complying, "the suspect reached behind his back with both hands," he said.
Out came a revolver, police officers said.
The officers ordered the man to drop the gun. Instead, police said, he squared up against them. "The officers returned fire in response to that deadly threat," Kimerer said.
Both officers, armed with Glock .40 caliber semi-automatic handguns, fired. One fired four shots; the second, three shots.
One of those bullets ended up in the gunman's gun -- jammed into the cylinder of his revolver. The department released photos Wednesday showing the cracked brass of a bullet shoved out of the rear of one chamber.
Fire medics arrived but were unable to revive the man."
Don't ya just love happy endings?

Never seen nuthin like that afore...and I've been in and around shootouts.
Here's a puzzle fer ya Fits...one of the cases I handled.
Facts:
1)Shooting
2) 2 side by side holes in the victims head...right side.
3) Weapon...some old off-brand revolver..2 shots fired.
4)Victim was right handed.
5)Powder stipling at entry holes.
Was it a Homicide...suicide or accidental?
Could have been all 3, but this is cool.
I've known of people using less than capable calibers who've had to shoot more than once to end it all. One of my dearest friends from high school shot himself twice in the chest, then crawled to his shotgun after lying about in agony. One more shot and it was over.
I've also seen revolvers jump crimp and fire two bullets in succession with just one squeeze.
Good on ya, Cookie and thanks for stopping by.
Next Fact:
Upon autopsy...one round with lands & grooves(stirations)...one nuthin....
Hmmm
Well, a bullet not fired through a barrel doesn't have the force to pop thru a tin can, let alone a human skull, so I'd venture to offer that someone pounded it in. Or...one shot from the revolver with L&G and another from an outshot revolver without.
Should'a been able to tell from the residue if the "victim" fired once or twice.
Ya got close..."Sympathy Fire"...frum the same revolver. One through the barrel...the other "Sympathy fired" outta the next chamber.
Because of the nature of the case I treated it as a Homicide for about three days until the autopsy results came back...it had me goin fer a spell. Tested the remaining shit ammo at the range and it happened AGAIN! Thought you (and Lem if he reads this) would find it interestin.....
Hey Fits...BTW...d'y'all mind if'n I put on my "Frends & Naybors" section of the blog...?
Thanks for the intriguing "case", cookie, much obliged.
And sure, go ahead.
That was interesting.
And who DIDN'T like Gabby Hayes.
