Tick...tick...tick...tick...

March 17, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - President Bush yesterday issued a new national security policy that puts Iran atop the list of challenges facing America and renews his support for pre-emptive war against rogue nations and terrorists.

Bush states he hopes diplomacy will keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons, but then bluntly warns: "This diplomatic effort must succeed if confrontation is to be avoided."

The president, echoing statements made earlier this week by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, also states: "We may face no greater challenge from a single country than from Iran."
Asked if Bush is threatening Iran with pre-emptive war, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said: "We're trying to resolve this in a diplomatic manner" - leaving the door open to military action if that fails.

Fast-Forward...

"Daddy? What's that big empty space on the map?"

"Where...oh yeah. That's where this country called IRAN used to be, honey. Once upon a time there was this President who decided that people who live and think and act like animals should be sent someplace far, far away so they wouldn't hurt good people anymore..."
