More Tongue-Tied: Some Statements About Race Now Illegal In Australia

"Australia's political correctness court, the "Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission" has just declared illegal statements made by Prof. Andrew Fraser about racial aspects of Australia's immigration policy. Prof. Fraser has a response to the verdict here. It appears that he will refuse to comply with the verdict.

Fraser has set out his views both in the popular press and in an academic journal article -- an article which was suppressed before it could be published. You can however find the article here. It is a very thorough defence of his views. Predictably, the only substantial scholarly riposte to Fraser that I know of comes from a moderate conservative -- Windschuttle. The only talent the Left have in these matters is for hysteria and abuse."

This really saddens me. Remember not too long ago when Australians were thought of in terms of :Women Glow and Men Thunder?

Prime Minister Howard is one of those strange little men in a strange little land of wimps with balls. I know, a contradiction, but that's Australia from the get-go. When the pressure was on about aiding the United States in Iraq, Howard ran his last election on how it was the right thing to do, and he won by a landslide.

A lot of the problems the people of Australia have is their unflinching belief that whatever the media says must be true, so they were led like sheep to disarm themselves, and now they've become accustomed to the bliss-nanny way of looking at things.

Some words are hurtful? Make them illegal. And once a country falls for that bullswaddle, it isn't ON a slippery slope to ultra-socialism, it's there and loving it.

They've so very many problems with the steady influx of immigrating Asians, the ongoing mess of dealing with their own indigenous peoples, and have thrown their hands in the air with an attitude of give-in, and all will be well.

Once upon a time I was going to retire there. Florida isn't the best of all worlds but the weather is exactly the same, and as long as you stay away from the mess the Cubans have made of the southern third of the state it suits me just fine, and I may have to sell all of that land in Oz.

By the way, if you've tired of clicking, here's some of what Professor Fraser had to say:
____________________________
"Over the past thirty years, Australia, along with just about every other Western society, has been transformed by a revolution engineered from the top down by the leading echelons of the corporate welfare state [1]. New Class cadres of managers, professionals, politicians and academics have dismantled the foundations of Australian nationhood laid down at the time of Federation [2]. The arbitration system, the protective tariff and the White Australia Policy: all have gone in order to facilitate the free flow of capital, technology and labour in a globalist economy. The most revolutionary, by far, of these radical changes has been the decision to open Australia to mass Third World immigration. In taking this step, the managerial regime has, in effect, followed the wry advice tendered by Bertolt Brecht to the East German government on the occasion of the worker's revolt in 1956: Rather than relying on crude repressive measures, Brecht suggested, the Communist regime should simply dissolve the people and elect a new one [3]. Indeed, since the end of the Second World War a strange alliance of Communists, Christian churches, ethnic lobbies and other pressure groups working through the corporate sector and within the centralised apparatus of state power set out deliberately to flood the Anglo-Australian homeland with a polyglot mass of Third World immigrants."

Not a damn word is wrong, just terribly incorrect by standards designed to placate murdering savages and entitlement-seekers. The great land of Oz is well on it's way to becoming a Third World slum, and that's just a damned shame.
