Told Ya So

Family never knew of 911 tape
The widow of an FDNY battalion chief killed in the twin towers raged at city officials yesterday for releasing recordings of her husband's last words - without getting her permission or even telling her the tape existed.
FULL STORY

And it begins. Or continues, rather. NYC is a den of incompetency, this is true, but I was unaware that it was incumbent upon city officials to ask PERMISSION to make public some of the 9/11 tapes. Entitlements can do this to people. They believe themselves to be so very special that each and every one of us must fill out a form just to approach them. Ma'am, I am sorry for your loss. Various networks aired video and photographs of friends of mine, and yes, a relative as well, jumping from the upper floors to escape the flames, and all we did was experience the loss, keep them in a special place within our memories, but NOT make a fucking federal case out of it.
