Does It Kick
One of my new friends, Ethan, tells me that the absolutist best 12 gauge slug is the Winchester Supreme Partition Gold Sabot. When someone prone to under-exaggeration tells a story of hitting a 450 pound hog broadside and having it stiffen then drop like a sack of potatoes, I tend to listen on up.
The slug is a 385 grainer kicking up trouble at 2000 fps, and for the kinetic energy devotees (I can use French again ever since their new President sent hugs & kisses) that's around 3400 ft/lbs.
Helen Damnation. That's as good if not better than a S&W 500 Magnum. Hard to believe they're making shotgun slugs as powerful as handgun ammo.
If the wildfires are EVER quenched, I might bring some along on a hog hunt.
