SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — "Alone among 10 Republican presidential contenders, Rudy Giuliani said in campaign debate Thursday night "it would be OK" if the Supreme Court upholds a 1973 abortion rights ruling.
"It would be OK to repeal it. It would be OK also if a strict constructionist viewed it as precedent," said the former New York City mayor, who has a record of supporting abortion rights.
His nine rivals agreed that it would be a great day if the court overturns the landmark ruling."
Rudy is so desperately wanting to win Kalifornia and New Yorkshire that he'll fence sit until his ass falls out. There is not a constructionist on the court at this point in time, and even if there were one, he or she would dump Roe in a nanosecond. It's hard to believe that the man can so misunderstand such a simple premise. Conservative judges despise Roe. Socialist judges adore Roe. The ruling is so legally ambiguous and poorly written as to be rendered moot and dead in the water to any right-leaning jurist, so Julie tossing a hem with intent to haw at it means he's lying.
And the guy STILL leads in all of the polls. Then again, who is he ahead of? McCain? Pardon me while I expectorate in his general direction.
