Nesting Hawk Attacks Middle-Schooler

"A red-tailed hawk perches above a young girl and a classmate during a school tour of Fenway Park on Thursday, April 3, 2008, in Boston. The hawk attacked the girl, touring the park with a group from Memorial Boulevard Middle School in Bristol, Conn. She sustained a cut to her scalp and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The hawk had a nest containing an egg in an overhang near the press booth. The nest and egg were later removed at the direction of state wildlife officials."

Right up until a bird of prey attacks someone, there's a boatload of "oooh's" and aaah's" about how cool it is to have something like a hawk nesting around people. The kid was lucky the thing didn't take an eye for good measure. Adults are sort of supposed to protect children, but this happened in Boston so never mind.
