Built-In Loon-acy

"From Illinois, California and New York, Democratic presidential nominees currently receive, without exertion, 107 electoral votes - 40 percent of the 270 needed to win the presidency..."

This staggered me, but it's early and the coffee hasn't kicked in. It fully explains how the Jimmy Carters and the Bill Clintons sneak into office, as their base is so formidable all they must really do is fool 5 or 6 other relatively meaty electoral states and they're in.

It's reached the point whereby 10 or 11 nanny-states can force a Loon upon us, and while I still don't believe RodHam to stand a snowballs chance in hell, it's times like this I wonder. The media does such a good job of inflating the credentials of fools...we very nearly had Al fricking Gore as a President, and the Bush-Kerry thing was too close for comfort...that we can hardly take a breather or let our guard down for an instant.

The remainder of George Will's column is a rambling affair, but perhaps he's tired as well.
