Deal Or No Deal...
Finally becoming "known" around town, and that's a good thing when one is always looking for a new gun or two. I've the chance to hook up with a Ruger Alaskan in .454 Casull; not a full box of ammo shot from the thing, the owner just couldn't tolerate the recoil.
$500 plus an 18.5" Mossberg barrel gets the deed done.
Not that the old Model 29 is anything to sneeze at, but a .454 even in a snubby is a more effective (400 grain hardcast skipping along at 1250 fps) sidearm against things that spring out from the waterline or charge from the tall grass.
