What's Wrong With This Picture...

"The Broward Sheriff's Office said Tuesday it discovered who sold the gun to David Maldonado, the man accused of shooting BSO Deputy Maury Hernandez.

Police said, with his criminal background, 23-year-old Maldonado never would have been able to legally purchase a gun. According to an affidavit from the U.S. attorney's office, Maldonado went through a third party to purchase the gun he allegedly used to shoot Hernandez.

The affidavit said the gun was purchased at Big Al's Gun Range in Hollywood. It said Miguel Angel Polanco bought two guns from the store and put them into Maldonado's hands for $350.

Employees at the gun range said they had no comment.

Investigators found the gun in a warehouse complex near where Hernandez was shot.

Polanco was arrested on Monday on charges of making a false statement when buying the firearm at the gun range. The affidavit said Polanco answered "Yes" to the question, "Are you the actual buyer of the firearms listed on this form?"

Upon further questioning, Polanco admitted to purchasing the .40 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol and a .45 Glock pistol for Maldonado, police said. He said Maldonado told him which guns to buy and gave him the money to make the purchases, police said.

He said he was given $150 for the Smith & Wesson and $200 for the Glock, police said."

Whoa. He purchased a S&W for $150, and a G-21 for $200?

What are these guys smoking that they could offer this as evidence without batting an eye...
