Half An Inch Doesn't Sound All That

So its Tuesday morning and I'm out to test fire a S&W 500. Got a ton of 500 Special rounds from the previous owner who decided that there wasn't all that much special about them, and is a nice guy but bought the gun on a lark and couldn't squeeze off more than 1 or 2 before getting the acheys.
