Loony Stephy Called For Assassination Back In '97...

And please, I'll have no protestations that it's "illegal". There are only a scazillion ways a sitting President could have anotehr head of state off'd. Well, a scazillion minus one cuz I'm retired.

Stephanopoulos Urged Foreign Assassination

"Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson prompted a firestorm of media outrage on Tuesday after he suggested that the Bush administration should assassinate a foreign leader who posed a threat to the U.S. - in this case, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. But when senior Clinton advisor George Stephanopoulos publicly argued for the same kind of assassination policy in 1997, the press voiced no objection at all."

Fresh from his influential White House post (he made damned good coffee and brought Willie his cigars. Gunny), Stephanopoulos devoted an entire column in Newsweek to the topic of whether the U.S. should take out Saddam Hussein.

His headlined? "Why We Should Kill Saddam."

"Assassination may be Clinton's best option," the future "This Week" host urged. "If we can kill Saddam, we should."

I offer this not as an excuse for Puerile Pat's pontificate, there'll be no nyaa-nyaa-your guy-did-it-too going on here thank you very much, but as yet another example of how the little libby's stroke their own while condeming similar actions from one with less of a moonbattish portfolio. Then again, the offspring of a RodHam-Schumer coupling would be less a lefty than Stephy, but as usual I digress. So why the media frenzy over Patsy and the free ride for Stephy?

Gunny's Law:

It's okay when a coward appears to be acting tough, but it scares the begum out of them when a conservative proposes the same thing. We all KNEW that Stephy wouldn't sanction the killing of a mosquito if one flew into his childs bedroom carrying a "Let me suck you I'm carrying malaria" sign around it's neck. Robertson, on the other hand, would gladly pull the trigger on Joan of Arc if she threatened the US.

Loud noises have always frightened the sheeple unless it's the baaaaa'ing from one of their own.
