Charles at LGF reported that the alleged surface to air missile attack was YESTERDAY. Duh to me for racing off to verify and start making phone calls when it's as obvious as 40 kinds of hell that no such thing COULD have happened and be kept out of the news, even if all the reporters on the face of the earth ARE still roaming the gulf coast and the Carolina's for fresh bodies to videotape.
My apologies for passing along such a stupid story. Some people get email updates of the version of this blog over at AOL, and oft times first learn of breaking stories that way. No excuse for me to add to such yellow, incompetent journalism, but I have many, many friends and relatives in that neck of the woods and wanted those who couldn't be contacted by phone to at least learn of it online.
