When Every Moment Counts In The Balance Between Life And Death...

...The police are mere minutes away...

Woman shot dead in middle of 911 call

BOYNTON BEACH, FL — "A woman was shot to death in front of her mother Saturday night, apparently while on the phone with 911 dispatchers.

Mittie Marie Allen, 49, was on the phone in the bedroom at her mother's home on 11th Avenue, according to Boynton Beach police. Dispatchers said they heard a man in the background ask Allen whether she had called police at 6:46 p.m. The man, who police say was her boyfriend, Anthony H. Williams, then shot her at least once in the head.

Allen rolled forward, grabbing onto the shirt of her mother, Odessa Cox, pleading for help. Cox ran into the street, where a witness saw her and called 911 at 6:50 p.m. Six minutes later, the SWAT team arrived at the house.

SWAT members entered the house at 8 p.m., but Williams was not inside. Police believe the 52-year-old lives in West Palm Beach and were looking for him Saturday night.

Williams has been to prison five times since 1977, according to Department of Corrections records, for crimes including cocaine possession, robbery, aggravated battery and grand theft. He was released most recently in August 2005."

Forget for a moment the awful reporting job put forth by this authorized journalist...either that or the cops couldn't tell how many times a woman has to be shot in the head before she stumbles into her mother and asks for help...

And concentrate if you will upon the difference between her, poor soul that she was, and the women who fight back. Dialing 911 should be for one thing and one thing only; to have someone come fetch the remains of one intruder or another because, after all, someone has to clean up the mess. Be sure to remain calm, disarm yourself when they arrive, and do the best you can to coax them from behind the bushes outside with the promise that everything is okay and they can safely come in whenever they want. Trust me, this will work. Just be ready to be thrown to the ground and cuffed as soon as they notice you are weaponless. Eventually they'll calm down and take out the trash like they're supposed to.
