Democrats Close Down The Senate...

And nobody cared.

For the first time in 25 years, the entire Senate is in closed session.
"Rule 21" invoked by Harry Reid, seconded by Dick Durbin.

SESSION WITH CLOSED DOORS1. On a motion made and seconded to close the doors of the Senate, on the discussion of any business which may, in the opinion of a Senator, require secrecy, the Presiding Officer shall direct the galleries to be cleared; and during the discussion of such motion the doors shall remain closed. 2. When the Senate meets in closed session, any applicable provisions of rules XXIX and XXXI, including the confidentiality of information shall apply.

Senator Reid: "The Libby indictment provides a window into what this is really all about, how this administration manufactured and manipulated intelligence in order to sell the war in Iraq and attempted to destroy those who dared to challenge its actions."

THAT'S what this was all about? The fact that Libby didn't remember as well as hundreds of other people combined?

Harry, Harry, Harry, why the big deal about the special prosecutor and the grand jury and the call for more information? If you have proof of all or any of these allegations then it's a done deal, but you really should have dropped it off before the jury convened.

If you don't have proof, then what your saying is nothing more than scurrilous conjecture designed to create a tempest in a teapot, and closing the doors like school children not wanting to play anymore is one of the funniest things I've seen in quite a while.

Even funnier than when Bubba was in office.

So what's the deal, Harry? No proof? All bluster and no facts?

Typical Democrat.

What's next? What other juggling act or sleight of hand will you use to distract the media from telling everyone that the special prosecutor didn't find squat and that Alito is a cinch to get the job?

Best quote of the day so far, and there have been a lot of them:

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas),chairman of the Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee, made the following statement Tuesday, regarding efforts by Senate Democrats:

It’s clear from this political stunt that Senate Democrats will go to extraordinary and unprecedented measures to obstruct the business of the American people. Because the Democrats have no ideas or agenda of their own, they’ve made an awkward attempt at changing the subject. Phase II of the pre-Iraq war intelligence investigation is and has been moving forward, but it’s a difficult and time consuming process—in other words, it’s not something that can be accomplished by tantrums. “It is my sincere hope that they will stop the games, and return to the business of the Senate.”

Bravo, John, bravo. And of course the KOS kids as well as other loony lefty bloggers are dancing with unmitigated, primal glee over this. That's because, you see, THEY are blithering idiots, they are USED to being blithering idiots, and have lost all ability...if they ever had any to begin with...to determine what is genuine versus what is bullshit staged for their sorry-asses.

But that's all it TAKES to please the liberal base. Cry, stomp your feet, act like spoiled brats, and bingo...valhalla for the moonbats.
