Marine's Kin Rips Into TIMES
November 3, 2005 -- The family of a Marine killed in Iraq slammed The New York Times yesterday for selectively excerpting a letter he wrote predicting his own death, while the paper scandalously ignored a long passage in which he praised America's mission.
"I thought they hadn't finished the story, that they hadn't told the whole story," said Timothy Lickness, the uncle of Cpl. Jeffrey Starr, 22, who was killed in Ramadi in April during his third tour in Iraq.
"I wrote to the Times and said it would be proper to honor Jeff by completing the story. They never responded."
"Praising" America's mission isn't something that all the news that fit's we print, the Paper of Wreckers is fond of doing, so they select one from column A, one from column B, and present half of the story when it suits them. They are despicable cretins of the lowest order, and cannot seem to understand that America is catching on to this tired old grey lady act and staying away in droves.
Online regular readers must now even pay to peruse, of ALL people, Maureen Dowd. PAYING cash money to read Maureen Dowd. Gotta be a law against that somewhere...
