FOXNews.com - U.S. & World - Australia Nabs 16, Claims Foiled Terror Attack
SYDNEY, Australia — Australian authorities arrested 16 terror suspects on Tuesday — including a prominent radical Muslim cleric sympathetic to Usama bin Laden — and said they had foiled a major terror attack on the country by men committed to "violent jihad."
"I was satisfied that this state was under an imminent threat of potentially a catastrophic terrorist act," said New South Wales Police Minister Carl Scully.
Police commissioner Graeme Morgan said one of the men arrested was shot and wounded by police in the raids, which followed a 16-month investigation.
An Associated Press photographer saw a bomb squad robot examining a backpack the man was wearing when he was shot. Morgan said it contained a handgun.
Now, Australia is as bad as Eurabia in not allowing it's citizens the right to bear arms, but putting that aside, great job guys. I's all the MORE important to provide protection for a population that is not allowed to defend itself and this time around it worked.
The major offensive against western civilization began against the United States, and has spread to Europe and Australia. But of course, it's just the small minority of moslems doing all of this killing, and lets not forget one of their favorite killing fields...the mideast.
France is at war and won't admit it, and just imagine John Kerry as President. Remember his wanting to ask Europe for permission slips to wage war, and that he felt they could be convinced to help us.
Help us what, precisely? In learning how to surrender without a fight?
