The French are always calling attention to the unruly US, and were tsk-tsking the bad behavior in New Orleans...we have OUR minorities too thank you very much and yes, they can act like animals as well...when this comes along.
The balsy thing to do? Change the law and change it quickly, the law that prohibits the French Foreign Legion from fighting on French soil.
