Something Good...

While everyone else is featuring stories of Paris and now Berlin burning, we're taking a trip on the softer side today. Blog journalists often raise objections to the mass media's portrayal of the world where nothing good ever happens, and at times I'm guilty of that myself, but I know when to introduce a good-time tale, and the following is one of them.

Eagles: Owens Won't Return This Season

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - "Terrell Owens can take his touchdowns and dance somewhere else. The tempestuous star receiver won't return to the Philadelphia Eagles this season - or probably ever - because of "a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time," coach Andy Reid said..."

Yes, someone, somewhere finally stood up to an athelete in his prime and said enough. Enough complaining, enough criticizing the team, enough being a bad actor so adios.

Suspending Terrell Owens...the manchild who bought into ESPN's rap about how great his antics were...suspending him was a breath of fresh air for all of sports.

Civilization took control and said to hell with the money he brings us, he's just a horrid individual and we're better off without him.

Good job, Philadelphia. Sometimes the good guys win.
