The First 10 Amendments...

December 15, 1791

Preamble

Congress OF THE United States
begun and held at the City of New York, on Wednesday
the Fourth of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

THE Conventions of a number of the States having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added...

Amendments 1 through 10, then followed, as the Founders unambiguously stated, "...in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of powers."

The 2nd Amendment was clearly intended to keep the government on its toes as it dealt with a well regulated (armed and supplied) militia of common citizens, who, after all, were to ALWAYS have the final say.

That's why liberals attempt to obfuscate as often as they do. It isn't that they don't understand the Bill of Rights, hell no. They simply don't AGREE with it. Rights granted by a deity? Instead of a strict licensing system created by elected officials and enforced by their OWN militia, commonly referred to as the police?

Nonsense. The average person simply isn't smart enough or special enough to decide such important matters.
