Boy Suspended For Bringing Pen With GLOCK Logo To School...

"Here is the scoop:

My son was home Thursday evening doing his homework when his ink pen died. He asked if I had one he could have. I reached into the pen holder on my desk and grabbed a pen and gave it to him. He continued his homework as usual. The night passed normally, everyone goes to bed, and Friday rolls around.

So, my phone rings Friday afternoon. It's the vice principal from my son's school saying that he needs to discuss a serious situation about my son. When I asked him what was going on, he tells me that a pen bearing a Glock logo is forbidden by school policy and that I need to come and pick up my son because there is a manditory 3 day suspension because of the violation. Apparently, one of my son's teachers saw him writing with the pen during an assignment.

While I have the VP on the telephone, I retrieve my son's student handbook. Flipping though it, I see that weapons, replica weapons, pictures of weapons, and weapon images on keychains or other items are forbidden. The pen I had given him was one I picked up at a law enforcement firearms competition last year - which bore only the Glock logo, but not an image or rendition of a firearm. Nowhere does it say that a firearm company logo is restricted by school policy. I explain this to the VP.

So, the VP gets his handbook and looks through it. He was in agreement that the pen did not directly violate the policy, but that the Glock name was commonly known to be a firearm and therefore it technically was in violation. Then, the VP even makes a statement to the fact that I am a local LEO and I should know the proper application of the rules.

I found this to be the most hilarious interpetation of school law yet. I engaged in an argument for a short time about the suspension and how the pen did not violate the posted rules as understood by anyone reading it. The VP would not budge on his position and referred me to the school system's superintendant's office.

So, my son is at home and I have an appointment at the school superintendant's office tomorrow. I will try to be diplomatic, but this situation is clearly not covered by the rules by the VP's own admission. Maybe I am wrong here, but this just seems very unfair and exceptionally liberal.

How would you deal with this situation?"

It's one long ass thread over at so click the headline link if you've a mind to bear witness.

And thanks to The War on Guns.

Code Pink Declares War On Marine Corps...Berkeley Agrees Marines Must Go

"Hey-hey, ho-ho, the Marines in Berkeley have got to go.

That's the message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."

In addition, the council voted to explore enforcing its law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against the Marines because of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy. And it officially encouraged the women's peace group Code Pink to impede the work of the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station.

In a separate item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m.

Councilman Gordon Wozniak opposed both items.

The Marines have been in Berkeley for a little more than a year, having moved from Alameda in December of 2006. For about the past four months, Code Pink has been protesting in front of the station.

"I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don't belong here, they shouldn't have come here, and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates after votes were cast.

A Marines representative did not respond to requests for comment.

Well he has now.

Since I am unaware as to which low-life entity deserves the most scorn, the fag-hags of Code Pink or the town of Berkeley itself, let me say this about that;

To all the good and patriotic citizens of Berkeley, please disregard the following. Mayor Bates-Motel and the horrid dyke princesses of Code Pink should all get slow progressing stomach cancer and die after long months of writhing in absolute and unremitting pain.

And then...

May their blackhearted souls burn forever in the hottest flame the universe can muster.

And then...

May their very DNA be purged from nature so that never again will the planet see the likes of such traitorous scum.

And then...

May their names be listed in the book of betrayers of humanity and made public for all to forever bear witness.

Now get wise and cut the shit before we really get mad.

January 31, 2008 -- A veteran NYPD detective and his girlfriend have been arrested on charges of pimping out teenage girls to perverts attending bachelor and strip parties, authorities said yesterday.

Detective Wayne Taylor was picked up Tuesday with his gal-pal madam in Jamaica, Queens, as they drove a 17-year-old girl to a hotel for a strip party and sex with several men, cops said.

The tip that led to their arrests came from a 13-year-old Bedford-Stuyvesant runaway who had also been pressed into service by Taylor and from another, unidentified pimp, according to authorities.

After returning home a few days ago, the Brooklyn girl told her parents, and then cops, that on Jan. 10, she met a pimp named "Drama" who got her into the business of dancing for money at parties, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

Drama took the girl to a madam named "Mommy Z," who "bought" the teen for $500, she told cops. Mommy Z turned out to be Taylor's girlfriend, Zelika Brown, 28, officials said.

Taylor, 35, a cop since 1994, and Brown, began bringing her to strip and bachelor parties, and the officer told her to say she was 19 if anyone asked, the DA said. Prices at the sordid soirees ran from $40 for oral sex to $80 for intercourse.

Brown, who has a tattoo on her back that reads "Wayne," allegedly told police she was running the prostitution business and Taylor would "watch out" for her while her girls were working. Taylor told cops that Brown just ran an "exotic dance" business.

The alleged madam at least once chastised the 13-year-old for not earning enough money and slammed her head into the floor, prosecutors said. Taylor allegedly told the victim that if she failed to earn more money or tried to leave his Jamaica home, he would force her to work on the streets.

It was only after the pair sold the teen to another pimp on Long Island that she ran away and eventually spoke to police.

She described Taylor's van, in which she'd been driven from party to party, and when cops spotted it they made the arrest.

Sources said Taylor, on modified assignment at the Housing Bureau for misusing an NYPD vehicle, had long been a target of Internal Affairs, which was probing allegations he was involved in drug activity.

His girlfriend was also already under investigation - by the FBI for "human trafficking," law-enforcement sources said.

Taylor and Brown are charged with promoting prostitution, endangering the welfare of a child, kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment. They were held last night in lieu of $250,000 bail each. Lawyers for both denied the charges.

A third suspect, Krystal Tudy, 18 - who wears a "Mommy Z" tattoo - was charged with promoting prostitution and held in lieu of $50,000 bail."

So what do you figure is worse; a cop involved in such sordid affairs, or blacks selling other blacks.

Global Warming Watch

JERUSALEM - A rare snowstorm swept the Middle East on Wednesday, blanketing parts of the Holy Land in white, shutting schools and sending excited children into the streets for snowball fights. The weather in Jerusalem topped local newscasts, eclipsing a government report on Israel's 2006 war in Lebanon. Men in long Arab robes pelted each other with snowballs in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the West Bank city of Ramallah, seat of the Palestinian government, came to a standstill.

Heavy snow also was reported in the Golan Heights and the northern Israeli town of Safed, and throughout the West Bank. In Ramallah, residents were surprised to see snow when they awoke. For some, it was their first time. "I am just astonished with the snow. When I saw the snow this morning, I felt happy, my heart was laughing," said Mary Zabaro, 17. In Amman, where a foot of snow fell, children used inflatable tubes as sleds.

Some roads were temporarily closed. Snow covered most mountain villages and blocked roads in Lebanon. The storm disrupted power supplies in most Lebanese towns and villages, exacerbating existing power cuts. Parts of the Beirut-Damascus highway were closed.

Temperatures in Syria dipped below freezing and snow blanketed the hills overlooking the capital, Damascus.

Quick Shot

Now that John Edwards has dropped out, it's up to Hillary to battle Romney for which side has the nominee with the most masculine head of hair.

As of this date: Too close to call.

Sisterly Love

Sister says 3 died doing what they loved: drinking, driving fast

A sister of one of three people killed early Friday in Louisville said it "really isn't a shock to any of us" that her brother died in a high-speed crash.

"The thing that really makes me feel much better about this is they died doing what they loved to do — they were drinking, they were going fast and they were together," Lorie Flaherty said. "It gives me comfort, it does, to know those three things."

Here's Why The "Conservative" Pundits Are Mum On Gun Control

Ronaldus Maximus

"There are tales of robbery victims that are shot down in cold blood or executed "gangland style." There are stories of deranged parents killing their children or deranged children killing their parents. There are reports of snipers. And now and then the headlines blurt out that an assassin has struck again, killing a prominent official or citizen. All of these stories involve the use of guns, or seem to. As a result, there is growing clamor to outlaw guns, to ban guns, to confiscate guns in the name of public safety and public good.

These demands come from people genuinely concerned about rising crime rates, persons such as Sheriff Peter Pitchess of Los Angeles, who says gun control is an idea whose time has come. They come from people who see the outlawing of guns as a way of outlawing violence. And they come from those who see confiscation of weapons as one way of keeping the people under control.

Now I yield to no one in my concern about crime, and especially crimes of violence. As governor of California for eight years, I struggled daily with that problem. I appointed judges who, to the best of my information, would be tough on criminals. We approved legislation to make it more difficult for persons with records of crime or instability to purchase firearms legally. We worked to bring about swift and certain punishment for persons guilty of crimes of violence.

We fought hard to reinstate the death sentence after our state Supreme Court outlawed it, and after the U.S. Supreme Court followed suit, we won.

Now, however, the California court that sought eagerly to be the first to outlaw the death penalty is dragging its heels as it waits for the U.S. Court to rule. The Chief Justice in California, whom I appointed with such high hopes, in this regard has disappointed many of us who looked to him to help again make our streets, our shops and our homes safe. I find it difficult to understand persons like President Ford's new Attorney General, Edward H. Levi. Attorney General Levi would ban guns in areas with high rates of crime.

Mr. Levi is confused. He thinks somehow that banning guns keeps them out of the hands of criminals. New Yorkers who suffer under the Sullivan Act know better, they know that the Sullivan Act makes law-abiding citizens sitting ducks for criminals who have no qualms about violating it in the process of killing and robbing and burglarizing. Despite this, Mr. Levi apparently thinks that criminals will be willing to give up their guns if he makes carrying them against the law. What naivete!

Mightn't it be better in those areas of high crime to arm the homeowner and the shopkeeper, teach him how to use his weapons and put the word out to the underworld that it is not longer totally safe to rob and murder?

Our nation was built and civilized by men and women who used guns in self-defense and in pursuit of peace. One wonders indeed, if the rising crime rate, isn't due as much as anything to the criminal's instinctive knowledge that the average victim no longer has means of self-protection.

No one knows how many crimes are committed because the criminal knows he has a soft touch. No one knows how many stores have been let alone because the criminals knew it was guarded by a man with a gun or manned by a proprietor who knew how to use a gun.

Criminals are not dissuaded by soft words, soft judges or easy laws. They are dissuaded by fear and they are prevented from repeating their crimes by death or by incarceration.

In my opinion, proposals to outlaw or confiscate guns are simply unrealistic panacea. We are never going to prevent murder; we are never going to eliminate crime; we are never going to end violent action by the criminals and the crazies--with or without guns.

True, guns are a means for committing murder and other crimes. But they are not an essential means. The Los Angeles Slasher of last winter killed nine men without using a gun. People kill and rob with knives and clubs. Yet we have not talked about outlawing them. Poisons are easy to come by for the silent killer.

The automobile is the greatest peacetime killer in history. There is no talk of banning the auto. With the auto we have cracked down on drunken drivers and on careless drivers. We need also to crack down on people who use guns carelessly or with criminal intent.

I believe criminals who use guns in the commission of a crime, or who carry guns, should be given mandatory sentences with no opportunity for parole. That would put the burden where it belongs--on the criminal, not on the law abiding citizen.

Let's not kid ourselves about what the purpose of prison should be: It should be to remove criminals from circulation so that they cannot prey upon society. Punishment for deterrent purposes, also plays a part. Rehabilitation, as many experts, including California Attorney General Evelle Younger, have discovered, is not a very good reason for imprisoning people. People don't rehabilitate very well in prison.

There is an old saying that slaves remain slaves while free men set themselves free. It is true with rehabilitation, also. Criminals rehabilitate themselves, there is little you and I can do about it. But back to the purpose of this article which, hopefully, is to make the case against gun control.

The starting point must be the Constitution, because, above all, we are a nation of laws and the foundation for our laws, or lack of same, is the Constitution.

It is amazing to me how so many people pay lip service to the Constitution, yet set out to twist and distort it when it stands in the way of things they think ought to be done or laws they believe ought to be passed. It is also amazing to me how often our courts do the same thing.

The Second Amendment is clear, or ought to be. It appears to leave little, if any, leeway for the gun control advocate. It reads: "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

There are those who say that, since we have no militia, the amendment no longer applies; they would just ignore it. Others say nuclear weapons have made the right to keep and bear arms irrelevant, since arms are of little use against weapons of such terrible destructive power. Both arguments are specious.

We may not have a well-regulated militia, but it does not necessarily follow that we should not be prepared to have one. The day could easily come when we need one.

The nuclear weapon argument is even more silly. Many wars have been fought since World War II and no nuclear bomb has been dropped. We have no assurance that the next world war will be a nuclear war. But, regardless of any possible merit they might have, both these arguments beg the question, which is: Shall the people have a right to keep and bear arms?

There is little doubt that the founding fathers thought they should have this right, and for a very specific reason: They distrusted government. All of the first 10 amendments make that clear. Each of them specifies an area where government cannot impose itself on the individual or where the individual must be protected from government.

The second amendment gives the individual citizen a means of protection against the despotism of the state. Look what it refers to: "The security of a free state." The word "free" should be underlined because that is what they are talking about and that is what the Constitution is about--a free nation and a free people, where the rights of the individual are pre-eminent. The founding fathers had seen, as the Declaration of Independence tells us, what a despotic government can do to its own people. Indeed, every American should read the Declaration of Independence before he reads the Constitution, and he will see that the Constitution aims at preventing a recurrence of the way George III's government treated the colonies.

The declaration states this plainly: "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government and to provide new Guards for their future security."

There is no question that the first 10 amendments are a part of those "new guards" for their future security. And one of the most basic of those guards is the right to keep and bear arms.

There are those in America today who have come to depend absolutely on government for their security. And when government fails they seek to rectify that failure in the form of granting government more power. So, as government has failed to control crime and violence with the means given it by the Constitution, they seek to give it more power at the expense of the Constitution. But in doing so, in their willingness to give up their arms in the name of safety, they are really giving up their protection from what has always been the chief source of despotism--government.

Lord Acton said power corrupts. Surely then, if this is true, the more power we give the government the more corrupt it will become. And if we give it the power to confiscate our arms we also give up the ultimate means to combat that corrupt power. In doing so we can only assure that we will eventually be totally subject to it. When dictators come to power, the first thing they do is take away the people's weapons. It makes it so much easier for the secret police to operate, it makes it so much easier to force the will of the ruler upon the ruled.

Now I believe our nation's leaders are good and well-meaning people. I do not believe that they have any desire to impose a dictatorship upon us. But this does not mean that such will always be the case. A nation rent internally, as ours has been in recent years, is always ripe for a "man on a white horse." A deterrent to that man, or to any man seeking unlawful power, is the knowledge that those who oppose him are not helpless.

The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed. When the British forgot that they got a revolution. And, as a result, we Americans got a Constitution; a Constitution that, as those who wrote it were determined, would keep men free. If we give up part of that Constitution we give up part of our freedom and increase the chance that we will lose it all.

I am not ready to take that risk. I believe that the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms must not be infringed if liberty in America is to survive."

Ronald Reagan writing in Guns & Ammo

But on the 10th anniversary of press secretary Brady's wounding, he had something of a change of heart.

Since most, oh lets say 99% of the bigtime Republican talking heads are unfamiliar with firearms, and their hero of heroes did something of an about-face on the 2nd Amendment, is it no wonder these shallow echo chambers don't champion the right to bear arms?

Russia's most famous - and glamorous - female bodyguard killed as her Porsche is carjacked in Moscow

Anna Loginova has been killed after failing to prevent her own Porsche being carjacked.

The glamorous 29-year-old died from head injuries after clinging on to the door handle of the Cheyenne and being dragged along the street at high speed as the car screeched away.

"She suffered serious injuries and died at the scene," said a police spokesman.

Police believe that she was killed in a random carjacking and was not the victim of an attack based on her work for wealthy high-profile Russian clients.

Loginova ran an agency for female bodyguards, some trained by the ex-KGB, to give discreet protection to Moscow's billionaires and their wives and mistresses.

In a recent magazine interview, she insisted that she and her team of glamorous bodyguards gave better protection than the more traditional beefy male security men.

She was highly respected for her bodyguard skills. "A normal man gets sick and tired of male bodyguards around him all the time," she said.

"In addition, many restaurants now do not allow a guard inside. They can come in and check everything but then they are asked to wait in the lobby.

"In contrast, you can take female bodyguards inside, she will sit down at the table and nobody would guess that she's a weapon herself - and can react appropriately in any dangerous situation."

She spoke of a recent carjacking incident in Moscow.

"I got out, locked the car and at that moment a man ran up and squeezed my hand with keys. I reacted immediately with a Jujitsu move, bending back his hand and hitting his face with my elbow.

"He did not expect such a reaction. The next moment, I took out my handgun but a Honda car passed by and he jumped in."

Believing that perhaps the same car-jacker returned to finish the job, police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who appears to have been jujitsu'd, and may have facial injuries that resemble a womans elbow.

Oprah gets a less than flattering tubby bronze statue cast in her honor

She has famously battled with her weight - but according to this tribute to the queen of daytime television, it appears to be a battle lost.

The work casts Miss Winfrey in bronze, as a nude, full-breasted woman with generous child-bearing hips.

Edwards, 42, says his piece pays homage to the closest thing America has to a living deity.

The artist's pieces typically address celebrity and popular culture in ways that have often stirred controversy, and has left it to the public to decide if his effort captures the true essence of Miss Winfrey.

Police Search for Body Parts Found Along Pennsylvania Highways

SWIFTWATER, Pa. — Police are taking to the air to search for more body parts after a severed head and dismembered remains were found in trash bags along two interstates in the Pocono Mountains.

A helicopter will be used to assist about 20 troopers on the ground as they search along Interstates 80 and 380, although the aerial search was called off Wednesday due to high winds, said state police Lt. Robert Bartal.

"We will be continuing (to search) for the next couple of days," he said. "We have a pretty large area."

A state road worker salting I-380 discovered a bag containing a woman's severed head about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the median in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County.

The highway was closed and traffic was diverted as troopers combed the road shoulders and medians. They found at least eight bags containing body parts along five miles of Interstate 80 and 15 miles of I-380, stretching from Stroudsburg to Gouldsboro.

Officials have said it is possible there are more body parts.

The victim's identity has not been determined. The remains were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, where an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Police were uncertain how long the remains had been along the highway. Bartal said Wednesday that troopers are reviewing missing persons reports for possible clues to the woman's identity, are pursuing a number of leads, and have asked the public to report seeing anyone missing a head or limbs.

Human Tongue Accidentally Served Up in Hospital

A human tongue has been served up in a hospital canteen's chicken risotto — and bosses reckon it was accidentally dropped into the food by a doctor.

Slovenian officials are investigating after a doctor complained about a strange piece of meat on his plate. revealed the doctor insisted it was not chicken and after some intense bickering it was sent away for tests — and found to be part of a human tongue.

Inspectors have closed the canteen in Izola, southern Slovenia, to review hygiene standards.

Bosses believe a doctor could have unwittingly dropped the tongue in the food after treating a patient.

A hospital spokesman insisted: "I can say clearly that we have never used patients' parts in any of our dishes. Not counting the special dish we made after the spate of cancerous castrations when those rich Americans asked for 'rocky-mountain-oysters"

Gitmo Lawyers Unite To Back Barack Obama

This just in from Stop The ACLU

"From the one group of lawyers possibly more dangerous than the ACLU, the Center for Constitutional Rights, we get this news!

More than 80 attorneys who have been offering free-of-charge legal services to Guantánamo detainees issued a statement Monday supporting Democrat Barack Obama's presidential bid.

"We are at a critical point in the presidential campaign, and as lawyers who have been deeply involved in the Guantánamo litigation to preserve the important right to habeas corpus, we are writing to urge you to support Senator Obama," the lawyers said in an open letter dated Monday.

"I'm sure that liberals are delighted with this endorsement. Obama's non-flag saluting campaign is on fire!"

And I'm sure Hussein will welcome such support. His constituency despises America, simply adores its enemies, and the rumor of John Edwards being his Janet Reno makes more sense the more I think about it.

McCain Squeaks Past Romney

What a crazy horse race. Military, both active and retired, came out in droves to vote for John McCain, and so did the hispanic population of southern Florida. First time in years anyone can remember such disparate factions agreeing on anything. McCain campaigned on a stronger border (what a joke and the Cubans know the real truth hence the vote), a powerful military, and time and time again hammered home his desire to beat Al Queda back to the stone age, where it really is anyway. Romney said that he was the better businessman but not enough voters believed that the private sector and Washington have anything in common.

Tomorrow, Julie Annie is slated to drop out and give his support to McCain, and while not as earth shattering an event as it would have seemed a few months back, is probably all McCain needs to lock up Super Tuesday. From a personal viewpoint, McCain ads came across as far more passionate and sincere than the rather stuffed-shirted Romney ones. Here in northern Florida the buzz was far more Romney-esque but apparently nowhere near enough to beat what the southernmost part of the state was looking for.

Teacher doesn't want guns on campus

Regarding "Bill OKs guns in schools" (Valley & State, Saturday):

"I am a native Arizonan. I am a former member of a U.S. Army airborne-infantry unit. I am a hunter, and I'm a 27-year veteran high-school teacher in a rural school.

I only have this to ask of Sen. Thayer Verschoor, R-Gilbert, and Rep. Karen Johnson, R-Mesa, and their supporters in regards to Senate Bill 1214: Are you insane?

The absolute last thing we need is to allow anyone other than law-enforcement agents to carry weapons on any school campus.

I know this is Arizona and some people have this idea that the Old West still hangs on here and some traditions are great to still have around, but concealed weapons on school campuses is not a good idea in any sense of the word.

Just because concealed-carry permit holders must pass a criminal-background check and take a gun-safety course, as I did for my hunting license, even though I knew considerable about it beforehand, does not mean that I or anyone else should be carrying a weapon on a school campus unless he or she is a law-enforcement officer performing his or her duties.

Before lawmakers pass this bill, they should see how teachers feel about it and not go off half-cocked and get someone shot because of this inane idea." - Pete Scholten,Show Low

Another magnificent idiot is heard from. True believer in the mystical powers one assumes when donning a badge. Will argue to the last breath that only police and criminals should ever carry a gun on school property.

And we sometimes wonder why the kids are dumber than ever?

Not after hearing from the likes of this detweiller.

Japanese restaurants invited to win approval of the sushi police

It may look like sushi, taste like sushi and wriggle like sushi, but for the gourmet in London, Paris or New York, the question remains: just how Japanese is this raw fish?

Officials in Tokyo are offering a worldwide “authenticity screen” for restaurants that purport to be Japanese. The scheme, they say, may lead to an equivalent of the Michelin star system for the world’s 25,000 Japanese restaurants. The kitchens of these establishments will soon be visited by teams of experts, run under the auspices of Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, who will assess the provenance of ingredients and how far they offer a real taste of Japan.

The origins of the wasabi horse-radish (preferably from the Izu peninsula), miso paste (preferably from the Nagano mountains) and pickled ginger (preferably from Tochigi) will all be scrutinised. Rice is expected to be the most frequent area of failure: a true sushi master will insist on Japanese koshihikari rice grown in Japan.

The same variety grown in California might, just, be acceptable. Faux pas may include serving Chinese soy sauce, or miso soup in a porcelain cup.

Establishments that serve genuine Japanese food will receive a seal of authenticity to act as an assurance of high quality. The seal will be useful for those drawn to the food’s health benefits, which depend on the genuineness of ingredients, particularly the fish and the tofu.

When asked to explain how health benefits could be linked to the type of food that causes the most deaths and illnesses worldwide due to the freshness of the fare as opposed to how authentic it might be, Tokyo officials stressed that bona fide sushi rarely kills those dining in first-world nations, and that gastronomic pleasure should always outweigh the possibility of disfigurement or even death, such as the true Samurai code demands.

Mother Defends Dog After Attack on Son

A little Australian boy's face was horribly scarred by the family dog - but his mother vowed to keep the pet, blaming the attack on her son.

Two-year-old Noah Newbold is lucky to have the sight in his left eye after being mauled by his family's mastiff-staffordshire cross.

Deep cuts and scratches cover the left side of his face.

But, the toddler's mother, Alicia Cottier, said she was keeping the dog despite the attack because it had been provoked by her son pulling the dog's ears.

"People are telling me I should shoot the dog, and as much as I love my son to death, I believe Noah was annoying her. I love the dog and she's part of the family," Cottier said.

Noah is nursing a range of painful injuries after being bitten on Monday night at his home at Booral in the Hunter Valley.

Police attended the scene but said there no charges would be laid because the attack had occurred at the home of the dog's owner, and apparently no firearms were used during the incident.

"Nowadays we're focusing exclusively or nearly so on gun crimes," Senior Constable Kent Ketchum told Australian News, "and at this point in time it doesn't appear that the animal attacked the lad with a handgun so there's really not all that much we can do."

Those Wacky Kids Do The Darndest Things

Jury Hears Testimony About British Teen Who Filmed Herself Trying to Kill Parents

A British girl tried to kill her parents — and filmed her murder attempt — according to testimony presented to a jury on Tuesday, the Daily Mail reported.

The girl, then 15, allegedly tried to strangle her mother in the living room of the family's house in St. Neots, about 57 miles northwest of London, while she was working on the computer.

She also is accused of planning to stab her father with a pair of scissors once he realized what was going on, according to the Mail.

The girl, who is 16, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder.

The video shot on Feb. 24 was shown to a jury at Cambridge Crown Court, the newspaper reported.

In it, the girl is sitting in a silk nightgown in her bedroom talking about what she's going to do to her parents. The tape then cuts to the scene downstairs in the living room, where the teen's mother is seen at the computer.

The girl approaches her mother from behind and wraps a cord around her neck, pulling it tight, according to the paper.

Her mother at first thinks she's joking and then protests, "You are strangling me" when her daughter doesn't stop.

Her father, who at the time had been watching rugby on television, manages to avoid a jab from the scissors when he rushes over to help, the Mail reported.

The video was shown on the first day of the trial, which is expected to last through the week, and there appears to be no truth to the rumor that Fox broadcasting has approached the young Miss in order to discuss a proposal for upcoming reality programming featuring videos of children who've attempted to kill their parents or guardians.

"It isn't true at all," an anonymous Fox insider told the Daily Mail, "we're only looking for kids who've succeeded in offing their parents or siblings and not wannabes like this young lady."

Exposure To Manure Helps Reduce Chances of Developing Lung Cancer

Working with manure can drastically reduce chances of developing lung cancer, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.

Dairy farmers are five times less likely than the general populace to develop the disease, New Scientist magazine reports.

The study found farmers typically breathed in dust that consisted largely of dried manure and all the bacteria that grew in it.

New Scientist said adults who had a greater exposure to germs than usual might build up a better resistance to bugs, including cancer.

"Some researchers are starting to wonder whether the higher incidence of certain cancers in affluent populations — including breast cancer, lymphoma and melanoma — might also have something to do with sanitized, infection-free living," the researchers said, noting the unexpected links between exposure to dirt and germs and cancer risk.

"If they're right, the implications are huge. If we can understand exactly what it is about some germs that has a protective effect, we should be able to reduce people's risk of developing certain tumors later in life by exposing them to harmless microbes."

New Scientist also noted that certain political campaign workers were apparently immune from such afflictions as the common cold, and has drawn conclusions from this heretofore anomaly as well.

"Since her run for the NY Senate seat, neither Mrs. Clinton nor any of her staff has had anything resembling a serious illness, and this leads us to believe that there are other types of manure that may indeed prove to be beneficial."

Family Lost in Woods Says Ranger Would Not Help Them

MAHWAH, N.J. — Six family members who got lost hiking along the border of Bergen and Passaic counties are telling police a ranger refused to help.

Susan and Ian Ratner and their four children hiked the Camp Glen Gray recreation area on Sunday afternoon.

After three hours, they got disoriented. They called police on a cell phone, but were disconnected.

Police got enough information to start a search, which included a State Police helicopter.

The family later told police that the caretaker at Camp Glen Gray Campgrounds wouldn't give them a ride or a cell phone. The family says he told them to use a pay phone.

Caretaker Drew Baumgardt tells the Record of Bergen County he did not deny the lost family aid.

The family eventually made it out of the woods by following the sound of police sirens, and soon came upon the Dunkin Donuts where local law enforcement officers had gathered.

Slimy Dicky Lavishes Praise On Theodore Of Mass

by Dick Morris and his wife

January 29, 2008 -- "WHAT does Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Barack Obama really mean?

In addition to seriously boosting Obama's chances for the Democratic nomination by anointing him as the generational heir to John F. Kennedy, there's something else that's just as important for the body politic: Kennedy, Obama and the voters of South Carolina may have tolled the death knell for the Clintons' reprehensible politics of personal destruction.

It's about time.

For more than 30 years, no one has been able to stop Bill and Hillary Clinton from routinely acting on their shared base instinct to annihilate anyone who gets in their way, in whatever way it takes, however long it takes, whatever it costs - and then to enjoy watching their targets suffer.

. After successfully employing their slash-and-burn tactics for years, they've come to truly believe that their reprehensible politics are justified, even necessary.

Remember Hillary's glee when she announced that the "fun part" of the campaign was about to begin - her attacks on her fellow Democrats? She was serious.

In Washington, Arkansas and recently in South Carolina, the Clintons have used whatever slimy tactics they felt they needed - ruining reputations, invading the privacy of their targets by dispatching private detectives to comb their records, lying about their opponents, blackmailing and threatening women who dared to say "yes" (or even "no") to Bill.

Remember how the Clintonites released Linda Tripp's confidential employment files to Jane Mayer of The New Yorker after Clinton hit man Harold Ickes met with Tripp's boss? Years later, the Defense Department settled a lawsuit with Tripp for over $600,000 for invading her privacy.

Then there were the stories branding Monica Lewinsky as a "stalker" trying to hurt the president: Those were traced back to Sidney Blumenthal, a Clinton White House adviser.

This year, Bill Clinton has been Hillary's hit man, especially in South Carolina, where he was in charge of branding Obama the "black candidate." Shamelessly seeking to marginalize the first serious African-American candidate for president, Bill worked overtime at stirring dissension. It's been revolting.

And it seemed that no one could stop them.

Now the voters of South Carolina and the Kennedys have stepped forward and openly challenged the tawdry Clinton politics of personal destruction, their hit job on Obama, their use of the race card, their claims of dynastic privilege.

On Saturday, 55 percent of South Carolina voters said "no" to the Clintons. After listening to the two of them disparage Obama, distort his record, dis his hopes and dreams for America, South Carolina backed Obama and his politics of hope.

And Kennedy, in his lofty endorsement of Obama, served notice on the Clintons that the days of their politics of personal destruction are over.

Apparently Kennedy called the Clintons last week and demanded an immediate end to their transparent racial politics and attempts to destroy Obama. They ignored him.

Now Kennedy has made it clear that the Democratic Party and the voters of America are no longer going to tolerate and ignore the Clintons sordid personal politics. Bravo!"

Good Lord, but what nonsense. As anyone with more than 5 minutes of political acumen knows, endorsements are all about the endorser and not the endorsee. And if ever there was a human being more adept at calling attention to himself...Bill Clinton doesn't count because he's a veritable freshman compared to The's Theodore Kennedy. The lefts senior salesman of free lunches doesn't want to stare at some old lady for the next 4 years and actually refer to her as Madam President, why hells bells she isn't even a Kennedy for chrissake.

That Dick Morris could actually believe Theodore to have a single altruistic bone in his chubby body is mind boggling. Then again, since he's addicted to power and it does appear that there's a new generating station in town named Hussein, perhaps he's merely lobbying for a job in yet another ultra-liberal administration.

So do you have any more of those or is that the price for that particular display model. Says I.

Gee, dunno. Says he.

Would you be kind enough to check for me. Not that it'd be a deal breaker but I sort of would like a fresh from the box rifle and all that jazz. Says I.

You want me to see if we have any more in the gun room? Says he.

That'd prolly do it. Says I.

Well I need to call the manager cuz I don't have no key. Says he.

That'd be fine as well. Says I.

tick tick tick tick tick tick........

Sorry I took so long but he's out back unloading a truck. Says he.

Think he'll be back anytime soon? Says I...feeling the impulse purchase frenzy-genie beginning to lose interest.

You could come back later, or call maybe. Says he.

Did you finish making that key? Says I.

Oh sure, here. Says he.

Bye now. Says I.

(PS: They also had a Winchester Super X Semi-Auto in 30-06 for $550 OTD. Thank the Lord the kid was a dunce.)

At Long Last The Link Is Operative...

Some weeks back I saw this over at Ride Fast & Shoot Straight, but taking the test returned nothing more than being directed to some dating service and I was rather pissed. No fault of our our pal at 'Ride', as he was quite irked as well. David Codrea at The War on Guns linked to it again today, and like them Frenchies are fond of saying, violin!

Anyway, it was working when I took it. YMMV.

Global Warming Watch: China issues red alert for snowstorms

The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) early Monday issued a red alert for severe snowstorms forecast for central and eastern China.

The snow, the worst in a decade in many places, has hit most of China since Jan. 12, leaving homes collapsed, power blackouts, highways closed and crops destroyed.

Female "Experts" Say Mrs. Bill Clinton Criticized More Than Her Male Opponents

"From the color of her suit to her latest choice in hairstyle, Hillary Clinton and her appearance is a common topic of conversation, and according to political analysts, the female presidential candidate is scrutinized for her looks more so than her male counterparts.

"There's no doubt that [Clinton] is held to a different standard — the evaluation of appearance has always been traditionally different for female candidates," said Sarah Brewer, the associate director of the Women and Politics Institute at American University."

Sorry, Miss Friedman but that doesn't pass the smell test. Fact of the matter is it stinks. Perhaps you've disremembered back when Joe Biden had to drop out of a race because he was caught with hair transplants or the fact that John Edwards is universally referred to as the Breck Girl, or that John Kerry is still called Lurch. Or John McCain being called too old, or the simple fact that Hillary Clinton is not very attractive so but of course people are going to comment on her bad hair days.

And Sarah? If thats the best you can do sweetheart, in other words making things up as you go along, then perhaps its past time for you to back to the kitchen where reality isn't all that difficult a concept to master. Men are given horrendous nicknames and insulted to the 9's, dearie. But let a gal receive any notice other than praise and its the end of the world. Men expect to be treated far more roughly and the TRUE difference is we don't whine about it nearly as much.

Hillary Begs For A Little Peace

"A wounded Hillary Clinton has a new message for aggressive supporters and her overzealous husband: Calm down.

"I believe we should take a deep breath," Clinton urged Sunday.

Her plea to remove the rancor from the race came as she reeled from a double-whammy drubbing from Barack Obama - in the racially charged South Carolina Democratic primary and the Ted Kennedy endorsement sweepstakes.

"Sen. Obama and I and our staff, our surrogates, our supporters should recognize that we're running to change our country. I'm reaching out to voters in every community as I always have done," she assured.

"I have been involved in civil rights, in women's rights, in human rights my entire adult life," Hillary Clinton explained to reporters in Memphis."

Guess that all those women her husband raped and abused and took advantage of were somehow special and didn't deserve any rights.

And get a look at the old bag playacting like she's really feelin' it at a church in Memphis. She out-Dean's Howard Dean each and every day and the liberal media eats it up.

Gotta admit that the good-cop, bad-cop charade is working, at least when it comes to the Jurassic Press. Even Conservative pundits are buying into Bill-Gone-Wild and can't see through their act.

Captain America Returns...

And He's On A Mission To Wound Every Bad Guy In Town

"Less than a year after the legendary star-spangled superhero was killed off in his comic book, his former teenage sidekick is being promoted to fill those big red boots in the latest issue, out Wednesday.

Fans were devastated when Steve Rogers - a 1941 creation of artists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby - was gunned down on the steps of a courthouse last March. It was the industry's biggest shocker since Superman temporarily went up, up and away to the great Fortress of Solitude in the sky in 1992.

Many pundits believed the death of a character draped in the American flag was a thinly veiled political allegory.

"It's an experiment," said Marvel Entertainment editor in chief Joe Quesada. "Every day, every story, I'm ready for backlash."

There's bound to be a backlash when fans see Bucky Barnes, the new Cap, toss the famous shield and whip out a firearm."

We said as much back when it was first announced that Cap would be coming back heavy, but it certainly won't be his fans who caterwaul that he's cranking out .45 ACP justice. But from the look of the released panels from the upcoming issue, it seems that Captain Bucky-B is shooting to...wound(?)

So they wimped out and hedged their bets. And here I thought that the days of The Lone Ranger shooting guns out of his enemies hands were long since forgotten. Just don't try this at home, kids. A wounded enemy can be even more dangerous.

Armed And Guilty As Sin...

But Will Do NO Jail Time

"A former city cop, who tried to help her ex-con husband hide his bullet-riddled car after he shot a plainclothes officer, was sentenced to five years' probation Friday.

Jacqueline Melendez-Rivera, 38, had faced four years behind bars but cut a no-jail deal with Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Joseph McKay in exchange for her guilty plea for evidence tampering in the Feb. 10 incident.

Her husband, Jose Rivera, 32, was sentenced to up to 16 years in prison for wounding Officer Andrew Suarez after a staredown while driving in Park Slope, Brooklyn."

Muncie woman receives $80,000 after SWAT raided her home by mistake

MUNCIE -- "A woman who filed a lawsuit after her home was mistakenly raided by police during the filming of Armed & Famous has reached a settlement out of court.

Lyndsay Clements received $80,000 in the case, according to her Indianapolis attorney, Michael Sutherlin.

"My client was happy with that and wanted to move on," Sutherlin said.

Clements had initially sought $1 million in a suit filed in federal court that listed as defendants celebrity cop Jack Osbourne, Muncie officer Michael Edwards, Muncie Police Chief Joe Winkle, Mayor Dan Canan, CBS Broadcasting Inc. and production company Good TV Inc.

Sutherlin said he did not know how the defendants split the responsibility of paying the $80,000 settlement.

City attorney Charles "Chic" Clark referred questions about the case to the city's insurance provider, Travelers Insurance, and that company's attorney, John Roy.

Roy did not return a phone call to his office.

Clark said he did not know how much Travelers paid to settle the case on behalf of the city, but that it was not paid for through taxpayer money and would not result in higher rates for the city.

The lawsuit alleged that around 12:30 a.m. Dec. 12, 2006, Muncie police officers -- including SWAT team members and Osbourne -- entered Lyndsay Clements' home in the 800 block of West Main Street under the mistaken belief that she was harboring a fugitive.

They handcuffed Clements in her nightgown for 30 minutes, according to Sutherlin, and ransacked her apartment while production crews filmed the activity.

"At some point, the police determined they were at the wrong address and without explanation or apology, immediately left the vicinity," the suit said.

Footage of the incident, including officers gaining entry into the apartment, appeared on Armed & Famous Jan. 11 with no explanation of the police mistake, the lawsuit said."

Explanation? Apology?

Who the hell is she kidding?

Since when did the America's Keystone Cops have to do either?

"Don't Drop The Soap"

While Democrat Kansas Governess Kathleen Sebelius vetoed a measure that would provide for more accurate and comprehensive reporting of abortion statistics to state officials, she has endorsed her son's board game titled "Don't Drop the Soap," a prison-themed game he created as part of a class project at the Rhode Island School of Design.

John Sebelius, 23, has the backing of both mother and father, U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary Sebelius. Sebelius spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran said both parents "are very proud of their son John's creativity and talent."

John Sebelius is selling the game on his Internet site for $34.99, plus packaging, shipping and handling. The contact information on the Web site lists the address of the governor's mansion. Corcoran said the address will change when John Sebelius moves, which is not considered to be any time soon as traditionally democrat children remain in the 'nest' until their late 30's to early 40's.

The site describes, "Don't Drop the Soap" as a game "Where no one playing enters through the front door!"

"Fight your way through 6 different exciting locations in hopes of being granted parole," the site says. "Escape prison riots in The Yard, slip glass into a mob boss' lasagna in the Cafeteria, steal painkillers from the nurse's desk in the Infirmary, avoid being cornered by the Aryans in the Shower Room, fight off Latin Kings in Gang War, and try not to smoke your entire stash in The Hole."

The game includes five tokens representing a bag of cocaine, a handgun and three characters: wheelchair-using 'Wheelz," muscle-flexing "Anferny" and business suit-clad "Sal 'the Butcher."'

When asked if making light of prison rape was something to be proud of, Governess Kathleen Sebelius replied that she was "very proud of her son's creativity and talent', and certain he meant no disrespect towards rape victims. The Governess was also asked about the truth of rumors concerning her son offering yet another game, this one featuring abortion and entitled "Scramble the Baby!" and replied that she was "very proud of her son's creativity and talent'".

Renowned Swimmer Endorses Barack Obama Despite Protests From Bill Clinton

Rejecting a personal entreaty from President Bill Clinton, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for president in a joint appearance on Monday, Democratic sources said.

The embrace provides a dramatic rocket for Obama to ride into the frantic, nationwide campaigning ahead of the spate of Super Tuesday primaries on Feb. 5, the biggest day for nominating contests in U.S. history. Caroline Kennedy, the senator's niece and the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, will also appear at the rally, the sources said.

Democrats said the endorsement will help Obama with traditional Democratic groups where Clinton has been strong — union households, Hispanics and downscale workers, and starving bad actors nationwide.

"For too long Bill Clinton has owned the squinty, girly-hand, bad actor vote," said a high level democrat, "and while it is true that Mr. Clinton is universally known as the worst non-professional headliner anywhere in the world, Senator Obama is giving him a run for his money and has just as feminine a pair of hands as any man alive..."

Yet Another Surrender-First RINO Who Doesn't Get It

So as Conservative Republicans we find ourselves with no suitable Presidential candidates. This is of course to our credit, for we wouldn't BE Conservative Republicans if we let any old poser slither into the fold. Not so, says Peggy Noonan, who believes that an era has come to and end simply because we will not stand for watered down Conservatism. The converse is true but of course, as it is to our CREDIT that we remain steadfast in such a selection, and instead of praise we get the same-old, same-old liberal viewpoint that surrender is best when sorely pressed.

Conservatism has been tested and found capable of fighting back. Now read Miss Noonan's blithering attempt to convince us otherwise...

"As for the Republicans, their slow civil war continues. The primary race itself is winnowing down and clarifying: It is John McCain versus Mitt Romney, period. At the same time the conservative journalistic world is convulsed by recrimination and attack. They're throwing each other out of the party. Republicans have become very good at that. David Brooks damns Rush Limbaugh who knocks Bill Kristol who anathematizes whoever is to be anathematized this week. This Web site opposes that magazine.

The rage is due to many things. A world is ending, the old world of conservative meaning, and ascendancy. Loss leads to resentment. (See Clinton, Bill.) Different pundits back different candidates. Some opportunistically discover new virtues in candidates who appear at the moment to be winning. Some feel they cannot be fully frank about causes and effects..."

NYPD Too Blue For FCC

January 27, 2008 -- Five years after ABC showed the rear end of actress Charlotte Ross on "NYPD Blue," government TV censors finally got their own butts in gear by imposing $1.4 million in fines on the stations that aired the controversial episode of the popular show.

Fifty-one TV stations - mostly in small markets in the South, Midwest and West - face possible penalties of $27,500 apiece under the order issued Friday by the Federal Communications Commission.

The FCC didn't fine stations on the East and West coasts, where NYPD Blue aired at 10 p.m. All the stations fined, mostly in the Central and Mountain time zones, aired the show earlier in the evening.

The network will appeal. "ABC feels strongly that the FCC's finding is inconsistent with prior precedent from the commission, the indecency statute, and the First Amendment," a network spokeswoman said.

The ruling describes Ross' semi-nude scene in lascivious detail.

Her character, Detective Connie McDowell, "removes her robe, thereby revealing the side of one of her breasts and a full view of her back," the ruling said.

"The camera shot includes a full view of her buttocks and her upper legs as she leans across the sink to hang up her robe."

The FCC found the scene indecent "because it depicts sexual organs and excretory organs - specifically an adult woman's buttocks." And repeatedly showing Ross' butt was "titillating and shocking."

As a longtime fan of NYPD Blue I was absolutely agape when that episode aired, and just now refamiliarized myself by playing the tape. I had to stop after but 6 or 7 viewings as the sight of Miss Ross was simply too much to handle. It is a good thing that the FCC punished these stations, as we simply cannot have people thusly excited. See y'all later as I go back to look again just to be sure...

Just as I suspected. I've included some pics of Miss Ross, including one she did for PETA, for you to make up your own mind.

Obo Crushes Miss Piggy 2-1

Obama Pulls Big Victory Out of South Carolina

Barack Obama crushed top rival Hillary Clinton in the South Carolina Democratic primary Saturday, in a victory that could reinvigorate his campaign after suffering back-to-back losses to the New York senator.

Returns showed Clinton leading former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards for second place, but Obama held on to a gaping lead. With 73 percent of precincts reporting, Obama had 54 percent, Clinton had 27 percent and Edwards had 18 percent.

And with race emerging as a key factor in the South Carolina contest, FOX News exit polls showed black voters went for Obama over Clinton by a huge margin of 81 to 17 percent, and 82 percent of black women supported the Illinois senator. Polls showed he had similar support among black voters in last week’s Nevada caucuses, which he lost, but those voters made up about 50 percent of the electorate in South Carolina.

The Palmetto State primary was the last vote for Democrats before Super Tuesday Feb. 5, when 24 states hold primaries and caucuses for both parties. Obama, who won the lead-off Iowa caucuses Jan. 3, was looking for a clear and fresh victory after placing second to Clinton in the New Hampshire primary and in Nevada.

Clinton’s campaign issued a statement just over an hour after polls closed saying she’s congratulated Obama and swiftly shifting gears toward the upcoming contests.

“We now turn our attention to the millions of Americans who will make their voices heard in Florida and the twenty-two states as well as American Samoa who will vote on February 5th,” she said. “In the days ahead, I’ll work to give voice to those who are working harder than ever to be heard. For those who have lost their job or their home or their health care, I will focus on the solutions needed to move this country forward. That’s what this election is about. It’s about our country, our hopes and dreams. Our families and our future.”

Better be re-thinking that future, what with a millions of babies killed every year and all, just saying. Families. She can stand there and say it with a straight face while condoning wholesale murder.

And as far as Florida goes, well now Missy you'd better hope and pray that 81% of Gunshine state blacks and 69% of whites don't think your husband is doing more harm than good. He's the only one with any sort of record after all and wasn't a very good one.

At the end of the day, this is quite telling:

"Obama got 24 percent of the white vote, exit polling suggests."

Seems like the South Carolinian whites may not have appreciated Blowjob Willie's interference but they appreciated Obo even less. 24% in other states isn't going to cut it.

Sly Stallone Gets The Limbaugh Red-Carpet Treatment

Stallone has been a gun-grabber, true, and Limbaugh fancies himself as THE Conservatives Conservative, but I've been saying for years that our famous Conservative media brethren could care squat for the 2nd Amendment so this isn't anything unusual. Limbaugh has never asked the Governor of California...another old friend...why HE turned into an anti, Laura Ingraham doles out her definition of Conservative day after day and never mentions guns and slowly but surely began to swoon over grabber Mitt, Michael Savage has a man crush on gun-grabber Jerry Brown, and the hits just keep on comin'. Neal Boortz? Mention the word 'gun' and he gets to stuttering.

One simply cannot be considered sophisticated and remain a 2nd Amendment supporter, case closed, and the vast majority of people listening to the radio are women and even those calling themselves Conservative don't as a group like those icky, smelly bang-machines one little bit. So, to cater to the widest audience possible one talks about taxes, taxes, then some more taxes, because EVERYBODY hates taxes. Toss in an anti-abortion moment or two now and again and you're in like Flynn.

I guess the thing that irked me the most was Stallone complaining that the liberal media was down on him because "Rambo is a Republican", and he simply doesn't get it that you cannot have it both ways. To shed the Conservative Republican label he made an awful lot of gun-grabbing appearances, but his films at heart ARE about men who take care of business and thats about as far from a liberal as one can get. Unlike celebrity-sloberer Rush, I've known Stallone since he was 12 and can state unequivocally that he's as far from a liberal as a man can get, but because he wanted them to love him so very much he did some extraordinarily bad things. This doesn't excuse his behavior. I wouldn't shake his hand today if he offered it, and it would take a great deal of self control not to knock him on his ass. He betrayed his country and his flag and his friends by saying that "it (the 2nd Amendment) has to be stopped." Screw the self control. I would knock him on his ass.

Thanks to The War on Guns for the heads-up.

McCain, Romney Trade Barbs Over Iraq War In Florida

All along I'd been thinking the Iraq war was being conducted in Iraq. And wasting time shooting hogs when I could have been sending towelheads to Allah.

This of course means it is time for a ROAD TRIP, and I'll be back to ya after I discover the Iraq war in Florida.

Barack Eyes Edwards As Attorney General

by Robert Novak

January 26, 2008 -- ILLINOIS Democrats close to Sen. Barack Obama are quietly passing the word that John Edwards will be named attorney general in an Obama administration.

Installation at the Justice Department of multimillionaire trial lawyer Edwards would please not only the union leaders supporting him for president but organized labor in general. The unions relish the prospect of an unequivocal labor partisan as the nation's top legal officer.

Well he certainly couldn't name him as a running mate as Edward's has no favorable constituency anywhere.

Doesn't surprise me that a huckster would select a shyster.

Limbaugh's Latest Girlfriend

January 26, 2008 -- "RUSH Limbaugh has a new girlfriend - a blue-eyed Palm Beach blonde little more than half his age. The 57-year- old radio gabber stepped out in Miami last weekend with his new lady, Kathryn Rogers, 31. The occasion: powerhouse lawyer Roy Black's annual dinner to benefit Alex Rodriguez's foundation. "We met four years ago, when Kathryn worked for [golf legend] Gary Player . . . We've stayed in touch since and started dating in the summer," Limbaugh told The Palm Beach Post. Rogers is director of VIP relations for the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee."

All I can say is its a shame he keeps himself in such poor shape.

The Curious Case Of The Bridgend Hangings

"The true scale of a suicide epidemic among young people in a small town was revealed yesterday.

As well as the seven deaths linked to social networking websites, a coroner revealed that a further six had also died within a year.

The astonishing rate of hangings in Bridgend, South Wales, has terrified parents in the area and one secondary school has been placed on 'suicide watch' after pupils appealed for help.

Of the seven "internet" suicides which culminated in the death last week of 17-year-old Natasha Randall, each victim was known by at least one of the others.

Although the six other deaths revealed by coroner Philip Walters are believed to be isolated incidents, he said they show that the problem is even more widespread than originally feared."

Incidents with identical ways and means are HARDLY isolated. Good grief but can these people be that ignorant? They've instilled no pride, no sense of honor, no reason to live in these young people and wonder why their children take the cowards way out at the first sign of trouble?

Maybe I should change the headline to The Curious Case Of The Clueless Bridgenders

GLOCK 30SF To Make Debut At Shot Show

Not resting on GLOCK 21 Short Frame laurels, Austria's premier handgun manufacturer is introducing the GLOCK 30 SF.

The 2008 GLOCK Annual should be hitting the stores soon, but if you cannot wait simply email them or call Smyrna for a freebie.

Might take a while for them to answer as everyone there seems to be focusing on SHOT.

Eating Muhammad

"A new, cutting-edge, political TV show will challenge Islam with biting humor tomorrow night, placing the face of the prophet Muhammad onto a cookie and then having it eaten on camera.

"We're going to take a stand and say Muhammad's face is delicious," said Molotov Mitchell, the 28-year-old incendiary creator and host of "Flamethrower," a program described as a low-budget, gritty cross between the "The Daily Show," "The Colbert Report," and "The View" if Ann Coulter were the producer. "This is religious and culinary history in the making."

The theme of this week's episode is "All Things Islam," as panelists take on the faith of Muslims in a no-holds-barred fashion.

"Islam is not even a religion," Mitchell told WND from a location somewhere in Eastern North Carolina. "It's an ideology of 'might makes right' disguised as a religion. We're going to show that Allah was with us when we baked this cookie and ate it. Deal with it!"

Retired Green Beret Shoots Intruder, Gets Court Martial

BREVARD, Jan. 19, 2008 – Retired Army Green Beret Smokey Taylor got his court martial this weekend and came away feeling good about it.

Taylor, at age 80 the oldest member of Chapter XXXIII of the Special Forces Association, was on trial by his peers under the charge of “failing to use a weapon of sufficient caliber” in the shooting of an intruder at his home in Knoxville, TN, in December.

The entire affair, of course, was very much tongue in cheek. Taylor had been awakened in the early morning hours of Dec. 17, 2007, when an intruder broke into his home. He investigated the noises with one of his many weapons in hand.

When the intruder threatened him with a knife, Taylor warned him, then brought his .22 caliber pistol to bear and shot him right between the eyes.

“That boy had the hardest head I’ve ever seen,” Taylor said after his trial. “The bullet bounced right off.” The impact knocked the would-be thief down momentarily. He crawled out of the room then got up and ran out the door and down the street. Knoxville police apprehended him a few blocks away and he now awaits trial in the Knox County jail.

The charges against Taylor were considered to be serious. He is a retired Special Forces Weapons Sergeant with extensive combat experience during the wars in Korea and Vietnam.

“Charges were brought against him under the premise that he should have saved the county and taxpayers the expense of a trial,” said Chapter XXXIII President Bill Long of Asheville. “He could have used a .45 or .38. The .22 just wasn’t big enough to get the job done.”

Taylor’s defense attorney, another retired Weapons Sergeant, disagreed. He said Taylor had done the right thing in choosing to arm himself with a .22.

“If he’d used a .45 or something like that the round would have gone right through the perp, the wall, the neighbor’s wall and possibly injured some innocent child asleep in its bed,” he said. “I believe the evidence shows that Smokey Taylor exercised excellent judgment in his choice of weapons. He did nothing wrong, and clearly remains to this day an excellent weapons man.”

Counsel for the defense then floated a theory as to why the bullet bounced off the perp’s forehead.

“He was victimized by old ammunition,” he said, “just as he was in Korea and again in Vietnam, when his units were issued ammo left over from World War II.”

Taylor said nothing in his own defense, choosing instead to allow his peers to debate the matter. After the trial he said the ammunition was indeed old and added the new information that the perp had soiled his pants as he crawled out of the house.

“I would have had an even worse mess to clean up if it had gone through his forehead,” Taylor said. “It was good for both of us that it didn’t.”

Following testimony from both sides, Taylor was acquitted of the charges and was given a round of applause.
Meanwhile, back in Knox County, the word is out: Don’t go messing with Smokey Taylor. He just bought a whole bunch of fresh ammo.

Thanks, Cookie.
