Coming Soon...Double-Tap Copper Versus Gello

A few months back, I spoke of sending some new Double-Tap loads to Crazy Jay in Iowa, and in record time he is almost ready to send me some results.

There's a local range by him that sponsors shoot-some-gello days; you pays your entry fee then line up to have a go at ballistic gelatin blocks. At first I didn't see how he could pull it off, as Jay...stout-hearted and well met fellow that he is... cannot hit the broad side of a barn from the inside. But apparently he sucked it up enough to fire some .40 caliber 125 grain Barnes TAC-XP coppers zinging along at near on 1400 fps from his GLOCK 23.

All-copper bullets have regained some popularity, but they're pricey and that excludes law enforcement use so we don't know how they fare against: fire-hydrants, parked cars, passing city buses, newstand vendors, nuns on the way to church, low flying dirigibles, seniors waiting in line to cash welfare checks, household pets, or cripples in wheelchairs.

But we'll get some sort of glimpse about gelatin.
