"Edwin Washington, 22, is charged with criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
Cops said John Southern, 35, was driving a white Mitsubishi west on North Conduit Avenue at about 5:33 p.m. on Saturday - drag racing with Washington's gray Infiniti - when Southern's car flipped over.
It landed in a parking lot on 78th Street, killing Southern, said cops - who found that he'd had a passenger, Cory Sapp, 18, and that the passenger had a firearm.
Sapp, who is in serious condition with injuries suffered in the crash, is charged with weapon possession."
All I could determine from my picayune "sources" at big-blue (A soon to be retiring Detective who shared a passion for the TV show NYPD Blue and was once member of the Andy Sipowitz fan club) is that Mr. Sapp is close to death but a local ADA is hoping for him to pull through so that they might charge him with weapons possession and start the new year off on the right foot. It's all about the numbers, coupled with how distant one is from being a beloved of Al Sharpton.
I desperately need some new blue-snitches, but for God's sake don't email me from the job.
