"KMOV Channel 4’s TV newscast night before last at 6 PM had a story, that stated that St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, both Obama supporters, are implying that they will bring criminal libel charges against anyone who levels what turns out to be false criticisms of their chosen candidate for President."
Won't work. To prove libel of a public figure a jury must be convinced that the person doing the libeling did so with knowledge a forethought that he or she was in error. And besides, a simple stated opinion such as, let's say, Obama is a scurrilous scumdog unfit to empty wastebaskets where decent people live, is just that. A personal opinion. True as all shit, but still a personal opinion. The St. Louis county crooks, strike that, attorneys, might feel that to be a false criticism but who gives a rats ass anyway what these misfits feel.
