What ARE The Clinton's Hiding?

February 21, 2008 -- So it turns out that Bill Clinton's ties to mining mogul Frank Giustra extend far beyond the lucrative contract he won in Kazakhstan after the two of them shared a dinner with that nation's president.

As Bloomberg News reported, over the past three years Giustra's private commercial-sized jet has been turned into a veritable Air Bubba - whisking the ex-president around the world at least a dozen times for well-paid speaking engagements, personal fund-raising or stops to assist wife Hillary's White House campaign.

Giustra has also become one of the Clinton Foundation's largest benefactors - in a way, Bloomberg reported, that ties the foundation's success with his own.

Though Clinton's people angrily deny any ties between him and Giustra's business interests, the Clinton history on such matters makes those protestations hard to take seriously.

Which causes us once again to ask a critical question:

When will Hillary Clinton finally release her tax returns?

This isn't such a stretch: Bill and Hillary's finances are co-mingled, and the senator recently loaned her sinking campaign $5 million.

Indeed, the loan was made at about the same time that Bill Clinton ended a business relationship with another longtime benefactor that allowed him to reap a $20 million bonanza.

On top of the $50 million he's earned for himself and the hundreds of millions he's picked up for his global charities - not to mention his presidential library.

Yet he refuses to identify most of the sources of all this cash.

What's the big mystery?

Bill says that if Hillary wins the Democratic nomination - an increasingly unlikely prospect - he'll make public the names of all future donors. But not those who've already curried favor with the Clintons by kicking in some cash.

As for releasing her tax returns, Hillary says also that she'll do it once she's the nominee - as if primary voters don't deserve the same information.

Barack and Michelle Obama, it should be noted, made their tax returns public long ago.

But the Clintons - despite their long record of dubious fund-raising, not to mention their ties to financial people who've ended up on the wrong side of the law - continue to hide behind a veil of secrecy.

It makes one wonder - what have they got to hide?"

Plenty, and then some. Otherwise they'd be amenable to opening the books.

If anyone knows how to fight a battle when necessary, and run when the going gets tough, it is Mr. and Mrs. "It depends what 'is' is."

Both of them have lived down what would have destroyed lesser liars, as their constituency doesn't care all that much about honor and justice, and would easily pass off a suspect donation or affiliation so the ones they are hiding must be lulu's.

Men incapable of handling firearms in a lawful manner used to be killed or given lengthy prison sentences, but now guns are kept from them so but of course they multiply like rats in a particularly filthy alley.

A 16-year-old Argentine girl has given birth to female triplets - for the second time.

The girl, named only as Pamela, had her first set of female triplets aged 15, having first given birth to a son when she was just 14.

All seven children were born prematurely but without any kind of fertility treatment.

While doctors say the three newborns and their mother are well, the case has sparked debate across Argentina.

In bars and cafes, as well as the letters pages of newspapers, there has been widespread criticism of Pamela's alleged promiscuity.

Pamela's family already receives help from the provincial authorities, which donated land and built them a house when the first set of triplets was born.

Pamela's mother, who cleans houses to support her daughter and rapidly increasing number of grandchildren, says they will now seek more assistance from the government for the new additions to the family.

The teenager, who will be 17 on Monday, comes from the remote town of Leones in the central Argentine province of Cordoba."

University Police Converge On Nerf-Gun Holder

LINCOLN, Neb. -- "A long University of Nebraska-Lincoln tradition came to an abrupt end this week after a student brought a Nerf gun into a classroom.University officials said on Thursday that the game "assassin" has been banned on campus, along with all toy guns. In the game, players use a Nerf gun to hunt down another player.When it spilled into a classroom on Wednesday, people got nervous.

"All of a sudden, I saw five or six officers rush into the room," said student Arthur Scott.

Scott was the in class at Oldfather Hall when, he said, a student had the toy gun on his desk. Another student became concerned and text messaged a friend, who called police."They said put the gun down. They started yelling then," Scott said.

UNL police said they had to treat the situation like it was a real weapon because some guns are now painted to look like toys."

ANY excuse to assure they're the only ones capable of defending themselves. I've heard some lame ass excuses for police over-reacting, but this one takes the cake.

The Unpatriotic Loons Will Never Get-It

February 23, 2008 -- "MICHELLE Obama struck a raw nerve earlier this week when she suggested she had never been proud of her country until now. "For the first time in my adult lifetime," the 44-year-old wife of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama told a Milwaukee crowd, "I'm really proud of my country."

Conservative pundits and bloggers were quick to criticize her. Even Sen. John McCain's wife, Cindy, let it be known that she's never had any problem being proud of her country.

Most liberals, on the other hand, were willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt. Of course, she's proud of America, they insisted. It's just that she's especially proud now because, as an Obama campaign spokeswoman explained, for the first time in a long time, thousands of Americans who've never participated in politics before are coming out in record numbers to build a grass-roots movement for change.

The flap might seem trivial, but it speaks to a much larger division between liberals and conservatives over the meaning of patriotism. Obama may consider herself a patriot but her comments suggest that she sees the role of the patriot as critic: America needs perfecting, and until it conforms to her ideal, she won't be proud of it.

It's a view her husband, Barack Obama, seems to share. Last fall, Sen. Obama stirred a similar controversy when he talked about his decision to quit wearing a flag lapel pin that he, like many members of Congress and others, had worn since 9/11. He said that the pins had become "a substitute for true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security."

It's as if both Obamas are suggesting that America is lacking, unless a President Obama can change it. It's a theme that seems to resonate with liberals: America could be a great nation, if only liberals were in charge.

But most Americans already think their country is great, no matter who occupies the White House. Patriotism isn't about loving your country when your party is in power. It isn't about liking its political leaders or even agreeing with all the nation's policies.

No matter how much we may have disliked Bill Clinton, conservatives didn't feel ashamed of our country or think it is any less great and noble a nation when he was in office.

Patriotism is a lot like the unconditional love of a parent for a child. A parent doesn't demand a child be perfect in order to love him. Nor does that love mean that a parent does not recognize a child's faults.

Conservatives seem to understand this almost intuitively, but liberals seem to struggle with it. Liberals' patriotism often seems grudging - as if they believe it's the country's duty to win their love rather than their duty to love their country.

Our elected officials don't make America great, nor do temporal policies. America is great because of its people, its defining institutions and its freedoms. You'd think a woman hoping to be the country's next first lady could take pride in that."

Well said, Linda. Don't let these socialists confuse you though. To them, America itself is nothing worth writing home about unless it strives to become something akin to the worker's-paradise of the old Soviet Union, or even better, present day Cuba. True patriots WOULD proudly wear the flag and understand that honoring it means honoring the men and women who have given their all to create what has become the greatest nation that ever graced the planet. Liberals merely see America as something ELSE to bitch about.

American Media Still Fawning Over Fidel

February 23, 2008 -- 'FIDEL Castro Resigns." That's a fantastic head line, and should be cause for celebration. But just because the doddering dictator is stepping aside doesn't mean that Cuba is abandoning tyranny. And just because he's leaving doesn't mean the media are dropping their fictions about Castro, the Cuban "president."

Glancing at a TV set, I caught this CNN screen graphic: "Fidel Castro Resigns: Cuban Pres. Rejects New Term." Where on Earth is the media's regard for accuracy?

A "new term"? This murderous despot has only had one long, abusive term, and it's lasted 49 years. Anyone who says otherwise - that the Cuban "parliament" would be setting another "election" - is not just a useful idiot. He's simply an idiot.

AP reporter Anita Snow suggested using the word "dictator" to describe Castro is tantamount to mudslinging. While "Castro's supporters admired his ability to provide a high level of health care and education for citizens," his "detractors called him a dictator."

The American media was absolutely allergic to words like "dictator." Rudy Giuliani can be routinely attacked by liberal reporters as "despotic," "authoritarian" and "totalitarian," but Fidel Castro is just a "president" or a "Cuban leader."

For decades, this has been an easy display of the media's foreign affections. Every right-wing dictator, like Chile's Pinochet, is a "dictator," while every left-wing dictator is merely a "leader" or, in Castro's case, a "dashing revolutionary" and a "rock star." (That was ABC's Diane Sawyer on the morning of Castro's abdication announcement.)

It was nauseating to watch ABC's Robin Roberts assert that so-called "Cuban President" Castro was stepping down - and then see reporter Jeffrey Kofman suggest that the "so-called" sneer should be leveled against his opponents: "The fervently anti-Castro community of so-called Cuban exiles here in Miami erupted in celebration" when Castro grew ill in 2006."

Castro despises America.

The Yellowstream Media despises America.

Not a one of them are digging for the truth of the matter, because admitting that Fidel is either dead or on life support would be too grisly to bear. Several Miami acquaintances of mine say that the latest Castro-Grams sound nothing at all like him or the way he used to write. Like Arafat, Castro has been pronounced dead so very many times it is impossible to determine if the ailing scumbag is still with us or not, but gee you'd think at least one of the media outlets would take a look at the subject because it'd be big news.

The virulent old despot gave the Soviet Union parking space for nuclear tipped missiles aimed at the United States. His fondest wish was to see America a smoldering ruin. For that and that alone, he deserved glorious martyrdom and if he IS still alive I fervently hope he's in more agony than a person should be forced to bear.

AP Survey: Superdelegates Jump to Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) -- "The Democratic superdelegates are starting to follow the voters - straight to Barack Obama.

In just the past two weeks, more than two dozen of them have climbed aboard his presidential campaign, according to a survey by The Associated Press. At the same time, Hillary Rodham Clinton's are beginning to jump ship, abandoning her for Obama or deciding they now are undecided.

The result: He's narrowing her once-commanding lead among these "superdelegates," the Democratic office holders and party officials who automatically attend the national convention and can vote for whomever they choose.

As Obama has reeled off 11 straight primary victories, some of the superdelegates are having second - or third - thoughts about their public commitments.

Clinton still leads among superdelegates - 241 to 181, according to the AP survey. But her total is down two in the past two weeks, while Obama's is up 25. Since the primaries started, at least three Clinton superdelegates have switched to Obama, including Rep. David Scott of Georgia, who changed his endorsement after Obama won 80 percent of the primary vote in Scott's district. At least two other Clinton backers have switched to undecided.

None of Obama's have publicly strayed, according to the AP tally."

"You've been on the campaign trail for 398 days, ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer reminded Sen. Hillary Clinton on Friday morning. The remark drew a hearty laugh from Clinton.

"You laugh to keep from crying," said Clinton, who trails Obama going into the critical March 4 primaries in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Making the rounds of the morning news shows the morning after her debate with Sen. Barack Obama in Texas, Clinton was asked by NBC's "Today" show about a the line in the debate that drew boos: "[L]ifting whole passages from someone else's speeches is not change you can believe in; it's change you can Xerox," Clinton said, referring to Obama's supposed plagiarism of the Massachusetts's governor's words.

(Gov. Deval Patrick is a national co-chair of Obama's campaign, and both men agree that Obama had every right to borrow Patrick's words. "And the notion that I had plagiarized from somebody who was one of my national co-chairs, who gave me the line and suggested that I use it, I think, is silly," Obama said at Thursday's debate.)

Did Clinton have second thoughts about going negative Thursday night, NBC's Meredith Viera asked her. Clinton didn't answer the question, except to say that in the run-up to the March 4 primaries, people are looking at both candidates "and ask[ing] hard questions about what we are putting forth as our records, our accomplishments, and our plans for the future."

Clinton said Thursday night's debate shows there are "real differences" between her and Obama on health care, the economy, and national security.

She refused to make predictions about what she will do if she loses the "must-win" states of Ohio and Texas.

Clinton also refused to comment directly on a New York Times article implying that Sen. John McCain had an improper relationship with a female lobbyist eight years ago -- an anonymously sourced suggestion that McCain has denied."

Obama's Friends & Lovers

"Michelle Obama’s comment that, for the first time in her adult life, she feels proud of America helps crystallize who Barack Obama is.

To be sure, the wife of a candidate is perfectly free to have views that are distinct from her husband’s. But on a matter that is so fundamental to one’s being as love of country, it is difficult to imagine that Michelle Obama would publicly twice make such a statement suggesting disdain for America unless she felt it comported with her husband’s views.

Equally important, her statement aligns perfectly with the hate-America views of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama’s minister, friend, and sounding board for more than two decades. On the Sunday following 9/11, Wright characterized the terrorist attacks as a consequence of violent American policies. Four years later, Wright suggested that the attacks were retribution for America’s racism.

“In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01,” Wright wrote in his church magazine Trumpet. “White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns.”

Wright has been a key supporter of Louis Farrakhan, and in December, honored the Nation of Islam leader for lifetime achievement, saying he “truly epitomize[s] greatness.”

Farrakhan has repeatedly made hate-filled statements targeting Jews, whites, America, and homosexuals.

Those who think two of the closest people to Obama could publicly make anti-America statements unless Obama himself felt that way, are fooling themselves. To date, Obama has proven himself to be nothing more than a great orator, rendering the statements of those around him even more important in illuminating his true character and agenda. During his Senate career, he skipped 17 percent of the votes and sponsored only one bill that became law. That bill was to promote “relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Bereft of official accomplishments, Obama has distinguished himself mainly by being against measures that protect American security, such as finishing the mission in Iraq. If we were to leave Iraq quickly, as Obama vows he would do, it would become a launch pad for al-Qaida attacks on the U.S.

Obama avoided voting on extending the Protect America Act, thus putting America at risk when immediate interception of terrorist communications is required. Last August, Obama voted against a measure that would have allowed the U.S. to continue to monitor overseas conversations of terrorists like Osama bin Laden without first obtaining a warrant.

If his radical vote had prevailed, bin Laden would have been given the same rights as Americans.

To this day, Obama has not distanced himself from most of Rev. Wright’s comments. In a statement supposedly issued to address the matter, Obama ignored the point that his minister and friend had spoken adoringly of Farrakhan and that Wright’s church was behind the award to the Nation of Islam leader. Instead, as outlined in a Jan. 17 Newsmax article, he disingenuously claimed he thought the magazine bestowed the award on Farrakhan for his efforts to rehabilitate ex-prisoners."

This past week I watched as Obama mixed siesta with fiesta, and twice referred to Houston as House-ton.

Once and for all, kids, this is NOT a smart man. Granted, Houston is a really really hard word to pronounce, but it should not be for so brilliant an individual. Just ask Laura Ingraham who doesn't let a day go by without praising Obama's intellect.

Shopkeeper fears murder charge after armed robber dies in fight

Pay attention people, this could be you...

"A shopkeeper could be charged with murder after an armed robber who tried to steal the day’s takings was stabbed with his own knife during a struggle.

Tony Singh, 34, described as a hard-working family man who often works 13-hour days, was ambushed as he shut his shop on Sunday evening by Liam Kilroe, 25, a career criminal who was armed with a knife.

Mr Singh fought back and, after a fierce hand-to-hand struggle, Kilroe was seen by witnesses to stagger away clutching the knife to his chest. Kilroe was taken to hospital, where he died, and Mr Singh was detained by police. He is now waiting to discover whether he will be charged, and is on police bail until February 29 pending further inquiries.

Lancashire police confirmed that papers had been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, which will decide whether Mr Singh should be charged with one of three offences: murder, manslaughter or assault.

Mr Singh, who suffered injuries to his neck and back during the struggle and had to be treated in hospital, insisted yesterday that he had acted in self-defence. The shopkeeper, who runs the Lifestyle Express general store in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, said: “I feel lucky to be alive. All I was doing was trying to stop myself getting hurt. The guy could have killed me.

“I have got some injuries to my face and I am pretty shaken up but, thankfully, I am OK and able to return to work. It could have been so much worse. If one of the wounds had gone one inch either way, then it could have been fatal for me.”

Utah students hide guns, head to class

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- "The senior at the University of Utah gets dressed and then decides which gun is easiest to conceal under his clothes.

If he's wearing a T-shirt, he'll take a smaller, low-profile gun to class. If he's wearing a coat, he may carry a different weapon, he said.

He started carrying a gun to class after the massacre at Virginia Tech, but the student says he's not part of the problem of campus shootings and could instead be part of a solution.

Nick, who asked not to be fully identified so his fellow students wouldn't know he carried a gun, says he has had a concealed weapons permit for more than three years. But it was Seung-Hui Cho's murderous campus rampage that made him take a gun to class.

"Last year, after Virginia Tech, I thought 'I'm not going to be a victim,' " Nick said.

And bravo to you, Nick.

But I understand why any college of university is dead-set against allowing students to carry concealed weapons.

The football and basketball teams spend as much time in jail as on the playing fields so imagine letting these felons-on-a-scholarship pack heat. Bad enough when the nutcases flip out, who needs homeys fighting drug battles in the ivy covered halls.

And that's the bottom line. No one can predict when a lunatic is going to let off some steam, but they CAN predict when certain folks are going to play robbers and robbers in their spare time. When I see a kid in a University of Florida varsity jacket who can't use mommy or daddy's credit card because he cannot read the instructions on the register scanner I get the feeling he isn't taking up earth & space science as a major. Why don't these institutes of lower yearning do themselves a favor and run background checks on anyone wishing to enroll, while restricting the scholarships to disadvantaged kids with a brain.

Guns In Schools

(February 21, 2008) — "What keeps school security professionals up at night? Pandemic flu outbreaks, homegrown or international terrorism, suicide bombings. The list goes on.

However, as a member of the security staff at the second-largest school district in Monroe County and a retired member of one of Monroe County's largest law enforcement agencies, I am kept up at night by the fear of an "active shooter" in the high school building to which I am assigned..."

Get another job, and pronto. I mean it.

He goes on to make some valid points but nowadays it seems mandatory for law enforcement officers to first profess their abject cowardice before getting to the heart of the matter. Back when he was nothing more than a glorified hall-monitor life was cool, but come time to face serious consequences it keeps him awake at night. And of course only the armed "professional" should be allowed to carry on campus.

Trust in yourself, your training, your dedication. If any one of the holy trinity is lacking then there are but two choices; improve or go into another line of work.

Just stop already with the incessant whining. It is unseemly.

Neighbor runs to women's aid, shoots and kills attacker

"A Brighton man shot and killed a 44-year-old registered sex offender who attacked two women in their home early this morning, officials said.

According to Dist. Atty. Gen. Mike Dunavant, David Fleming charged into the home of two women at about 3 a.m.

Fleming bound the women but one escaped and ran to a nearby home. Dunavant said Fleming, who lived in Munford, intended to rape the women.

The woman who escaped went to the nearby home of Keith Ingram for help, Dunavant said.

Ingram, carrying a .40-caliber handgun, ran to the house and found Fleming attacking the other woman, officials said.

When Fleming tried to attack Ingram, Dunavant said Ingram shot Fleming once.

Tipton County Sheriff’s deputies and Brighton Police officers found Fleming dead on the front porch of the home.

Fleming had been convicted of attempted rape in Tipton County. He’s listed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s sex-offender registry.

Dunavant said Ingram has no criminal record and has a permit to carry the handgun."

Can the same be said for the deputies, I wonder? What LE considers a criminal record is usually quite different for its own employees but thats a different tale for another time perhaps.

Good shoot, though. One shot, one kill. Keep that in mind the next time a chairborne commando is in full blown rant about the absolute NEED to shoot to slide lock and how hard it is to kill a man with just a puny handgun. As always, the tool isn't as important as the user.

February 22, 2008 -- AUSTIN, Texas - Hillary Rodham Clinton's free-spending campaign blew a whopping $95,000 at a low-end supermarket-deli chain last month in Iowa - a telling sign of why she can no longer cut the mustard financially against Barack Obama in critical states.

Clinton's latest campaign filings reveal how a sprawling, top-heavy campaign organization splurged on posh hotels and pricey consultants but still struggles to define its message against Obama, a charismatic opponent whom Clinton's camp now calls the front-runner.

The $95,000 charge came at the Hy-Vee store in West Des Moines, a grocery and deli chain that is a fixture in the state, on Jan. 1, just two days before Obama stunned Clinton by beating her in the Iowa caucuses.

The campaign didn't confirm what the charges were for, but it bragged just a few days before the new year about a plan to provide deli sandwich platters at caucus sites across the state in order to get Clinton's supporters to come early.

At the time, the idea seemed like evidence of Clinton's massive turnout operation, but in hindsight it indicates Clinton's support was soft compared to Obama's hungry army of first-time voters.

The heavy spending helps explain why Clinton's camp ended the year $7.6 million in debt, not including her $5 million loan to her campaign.

The campaign team has plowed through $116 million so far."

With Hy-Vee prices being as lofty as they are I wouldn't consider it to be a "low-end deli", and the POST writer is showing his full frontal NY snobbery because few states have real deli's to begin with. Oh shit I'm a snob too...

Anyway, for those of you unawares of Hy-Vee, think Publix or Shop Rite, or Foodtown, and for one who lived in Iowa the Hy-Vee offerings were actually quite good, but the crux of the tale remains with the high spending Clinton's and their belief that the money would forever pour in and who cares because they'd have the campaign all but won come March anyway.

Deputy punished for gun incident in bathroom

A Cass County Sheriff’s deputy who accidentally discharged his weapon in a courthouse bathroom is being suspended for eight days without pay because of the incident.

Deputy Dean Wawers, 57, also will receive a written reprimand in his personnel file regarding the incident, according to a news release regarding the conclusion of an internal investigation into the incident.

Wawers, a 35-year veteran of the department, accidentally discharged his weapon on Jan. 10 at the Cass County District Courthouse.

The gun discharged as Wawers went to retrieve it from a coat hook, where it was hanging by the trigger guard, inside a bathroom stall, according to police reports.

The gun caught on the hook and discharged into the ceiling.

Wawers told investigators he hangs the gun on the hook because it is heavy in the holster and drags on the ground when he is going to the bathroom if he doesn’t take it off. He told police “he has been hanging his gun on that hook when he uses the bathroom for the last 30 years,” the Fargo police report said, and has the holes in his own bathroom ceiling to prove it.

"Somethin' goes workin' for ya all them years and you sort of pay it no never-mind," Wayers said, "and it ain't like nobody was hurt or anything so why we all can't just call it an accident and let bygoners be bygoners is beyond me. Hell, it was me who hadda spackle the courthouse ceilin' and pay for another bullet so just how much do they all want from a man anyway?"

Lockdowning With Loons

CARSON, Calif. (Map, News) - A report of a man carrying an assault rifle prompted police to shut down the California State University, Dominguez Hills, campus Thursday morning before they learned the gunman was an ROTC student practicing with a fake rifle.

Police swarmed the sprawling campus 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles shortly after 8 a.m. Some students and faculty fled and others locked themselves in buildings.

"We were just blind-sided," said university spokeswoman Amy Bentley-Smith, who locked herself in her office. "Someone came in and said 'There's a gunman on campus. Lock all your doors.'"

It took less than an hour for police to locate the suspect and determine he was a student with a fake weapon, said Lt. Oceal Victory of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The lockdown was lifted and the university reported that classes were back in session by midmorning."

Sad but funny all at the same time.

As far as the local lockdown that went down a few days ago right here in Gainesville, the suspect "surrendered" to police. In liberal-town-lingo that means they surrounded his apartment and he didn't put up a fight as they tossed his stupid ass into a squad car.

This turned out to be the same braniac who robbed a jewelry store at the local mall, and was arrested that afternoon at a pawn shop across the street as he tried to hock the ring he ran away with.

A rap sheet as long as your arm, but one weepy judge after another slapped his poor little wrist, because he was, after all attending a community college and trying to...are you ready...

TRYING DESPERATELY TO TURN HIS LIFE AROUND.

So much so that he was loaning money at the college and decided to wave a pistol around...in the cafeteria no less...to impress a 'client' who was late with a payment.

This time around he remains in lockdown himself, in lieu of $800,000 bail.

But getting back to the California loon-acy, so is that all it takes to call in SWAT? Just run around yelling that A MAN HAS A GGGGUN and they'll call for help?
