Snippet from a WSJ report on the situation in New Orleans...

"...The evacuation of thousands of refugees from the squalid Superdome in downtown New Orleans was disrupted after someone fired shots at a military helicopter, and fights and arson fires in the area also made evacuation efforts difficult. After days of brazen looting and violence, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin ordered most of the city's police to abandon search-and-rescue efforts in order to stop the looting..."

First off, you can tell it isn't an AP or Reuters report because the language is far too good. Gone is the "stinking Superdome" to be replaced with "squalid", and that's a word I doubt the "writers" of either wire service are familiar with. To the meat of the matter, and I really detest adding to the mass media's sell-the-soap-powder approach to this disaster but the vast majority of them won't be telling you anything remotely resembling the truth.

So far the Federal response has been swift and professional. New Orleans itself is run by incompentant dolts without a clue, and this is going to take longer than it should because of their abject stupidity. From the don't-bother-me-I'm busy police, to the higher-ups, they've dragged their feet when time was of the essence.

The monsters who stayed behind to prey upon the wreckage should be summarily shot where they stand. ALL of these citizens were repeatedly warned, and of course you will NOT see the folks who stayed behind and did just fine, thank you. As I've said before, New Orleans is our 3rd world city and to have expected less from these animals was naive to say the least.

PS; The President is on and to some extent I have to agree that he looks tired, indecisive, and is clearly recovering from the shock of it all. Sorry, George, but we need you stronger than this and with better ideas than "don't buy gas if you don't need it." And yes, George, we KNOW you're all working hard...and please, being proud of your Dad and Willy-Boy who worked hard to "help the victims of the Tsunami relief" is either a Freudian slip or man, get some sleep.

PPS: To the lunatic moonbats who successfully protested nuclear power and more refineries and more oil exploration...lo, those 3 decades ago...Fuck you. And thanks for the memories.
