On To The Show

Lisa and I are going to see "300" this evening. The crowds have diminished, and tonight is THE perfect night to venture into town because the Gators will be televised as they whip up on UCLA.

It'll be so peaceful I might not even bring a backup.

The Aftermath

As we suspected, the crowd was thin as most of Gainesville was glued to the television watching their beloved Gators trounce UCLA.

After the first major confrontation between the Spartans and the Persians, Leonidas is eating an apple while his men walk about finishing off wounded Persians. Sword chops here, spear thrusts there, while Leo chomps away on his apple in preparation to meet Xerxes himself.

I knew it was coming. Lisa was seated to my right, and her hand went to her mouth. The chuckles soon overwhelmed her, and in a quiet as a pindrop theater, she bursts out laughing.

"After all," Leonidas says with a healthy bite of his dwindling apple, "There are times to be civilized."

"Yes," grunts back one of the Spartans as he shoves home a savage thrust to put and end to a moaning Persian, "Yes, my King."

The damn broke and I've never heard Lisa laugh that hard. I was holding it back but couldn't help it once she started, and the two of us were in tears while the audience went even more quiet.

Then finally joined in. Blood, guts, gore, and she led a wave of laughter that was precisely what most of the audience was in desperate need of.

God Almighty but I've never been more proud.

Lisa reminds me that as we exited the theater a young boy looked up at me and asked, "Were you in the movie, mister?" To which I replied, "Yes, I was the wolf." Don't know why people make such a fuss as he really didn't soil his trousers all that bad.

Reds Trading Post

This in from The War On Guns:

"They've posted two new video ads defending themselves against BATFU harassment.

Ryan Horsley's got guts and he's articulate. He's defending a way of life and a fixture in his community from destructive invading parasites, and he shouldn't have to stand alone.

We gun owners are quick to pass judgment on dealers who don't stand up to intimidation, like those who caved in to Bloomberg's lawsuits. We need to be equally as quick to support those who refuse to roll over. This guy goes one step further and swings back defiantly."

Red must have a close relative who's a lawyer. And a good one.

Do us all a favor and take a look at what Red's is saying, and think about how you can help. We men of action pride ourselves on being Do-ers, so don't just sit back and wonder why everything around you is going to shit.

I've read the notes from your mothers, so you big bloggers are of course excused from doing any heavy lifting.

Zumbo Finally Gets It Right...

Liberals don't want to stop criminals, they want to invent more of them...

"In February, hunter and outdoorsman Jim Zumbo enraged shooters across the United States with comments appearing his now-discontinued blog on Outdoor Life. Since that fateful blog, Zumbo's professional life has changed - profoundly. A marquee career in hunting has effectively been reduced to nothingness. Television sponsors bolted, contracts were cancelled (sic) and a former front-man for hunting found himself the object of hatred and ridicule by shooters who felt betrayed by his comments.

Zumbo hasn't tried to shift the blame to anyone else. In fact, he pledged to go on the offensive to fight HR 1022, the newly introduced and significantly broadened, assault weapons ban.

Last week, Michigan Senator Carl Levin, a staunch opponent of firearms, used Zumbo's remarks to attack firearms owners, reading portions into the Congressional Record. Zumbo has fired back, sending an open letter to the United States Senate that responds to Levin's action and makes it plain that Zumbo isn't letting that action pass.

Last night, Zumbo provided us a copy of his response to Senator Levin. Today, in the sense of fairness, we offer it in its entirety - without comment.

An Open Letter to the United States Senate

Dear Honorable Ladies and Gentlemen:

It recently came to my attention that one of your colleagues, Michigan Sen. Carl Levin, has chosen to attack firearms owners using remarks I wrote in mid-February as his launch pad. As you probably know, Sen. Levin has been making anti-gun speeches every week for the past eight years because of a promise he made to the Economic Club of Detroit in May 1999.

Mr. Levin has an agenda, and he should have spoken to me before using my name in one of his speeches, especially since his remarks were entered into the Congressional Record. I would like my remarks here entered into the Congressional Record as well.

Sen. Levin is only one of 16 members of the Senate to vote against the Vitter Amendment to the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. This amendment prohibits the confiscation of a privately-owned firearm during an emergency or major disaster when possession of that gun is not prohibited under state or federal law.

Eighty-four senators voted for that amendment, inspired by the egregious confiscation of firearms from the citizens of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina in the summer of 2005. Those seizures, you will recall, led the Second Amendment Foundation and National Rifle Association to join in a landmark civil rights lawsuit in federal court that brought the confiscations to an abrupt end.

The taking of private property without warrant or probable cause - even firearms - was considered an outrage by millions of American citizens, and yet Sen. Levin joined 15 of his colleagues in voting against this measure. It is no small wonder that Sen. Levin gets an "F" rating from gun rights organizations. He would have American citizens disarmed and left defenseless at a time when they need their firearms the most, when social order collapses into anarchy and protecting one's self and one's family is not simply a right and responsibility, it becomes a necessity.

That in mind, Sen. Levin must know that almost immediately after I wrote those remarks, I recanted and apologized to the millions of Americans who lawfully and responsibly own, compete with and hunt with semi-automatic rifles. I took a "crash course" on these firearms and visited with my good friend Ted Nugent on his ranch in Texas, where I personally shot an AR-15 and educated myself with these firearms.

Some of us learn from our mistakes, others keep making them. Legislation to which Sen. Levin alluded, HR 1022, would renew the ban on so-called "assault weapons," and dangerously expand it to encompass far more perfectly legal firearms. For the Congress of the United States to even consider such legislation is an affront to every law-abiding firearms owner in this country.

This legislation that Sen. Levin appears to endorse is written so broadly as outlaw not only firearms, but accessories, including a folding stock for a Ruger rifle. As I understand the language of this bill, it could ultimately take away my timeworn and cherished hunting rifles and shotguns - firearms I hope to one day pass on to my grandchildren - as well as millions of identical and similar firearms owned by other American citizens..."

You go, Jimbo. Yeah, we went medieval on your sorry old ass, but thats what men do when attacked.

Welcome to the US of A. Pull up a chair and help us load.

Stop The Presses: Anti-Gunners Wrong Again

BELLEVUE, Wash., March 30

"Data released by the Minneapolis, Minn. Star Tribune Friday showing that anti-gunners were wrong in their predictions about Wild West shootouts and blood in the streets is a vindication of every armed citizen in the state, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said.

According to the newspaper, people with gun permits are far less likely to be involved in a crime, whether it is a physical assault, a drug crime or even drunken driving. Authorities have confirmed that the hysterical predictions about gunfights at traffic stops and danger to children simply have not materialized.

"You will not hear an apology or any kind of acknowledgement (sic) from the anti-self-defense crowd about the statistics," predicted CCRKBA Executive Director Joe Waldron. "No doubt they will try to blame the law for crimes committed by people carrying guns illegally. But the newspaper did a good job of sorting out fact from fiction, and it has found that only a miniscule number of licensed citizens have been involved in serious crimes, and a tiny fraction of armed citizens have had their permits revoked.

"We knew all along what Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek told the newspaper," he continued. "The worst predictions of gun control advocates who bitterly fought to keep this law off the books just haven't come true. We're delighted that the press, which did not support the law, has at least acknowledged the public's right to know how the law is working.

"Minnesota is just one more state where people have been given the opportunity to pass a law and see how it really works," Waldron observed."

Lets see now, hold on while I do a quick check of the NORTHERN ALLIANCE blogs...

Hmmm...

Nope. Lots of thoughts on many of the hive-mind major topics, but not a grassroots offering to be found.

Anyway, thats why you come here and other places that pay attention to important things like protecting your family when the going gets rough, and all we can do is promise you that we won't just talk about it, we'll remain actively engaged in DOING SOMETHING about it.

Minnesota, aside from being culture-free and snow-ridden, isn't all that much different than states that have a summertime. Give honest men and women power, and they will exercise it wisely.

Rude Awakenings

"Considering how badly things have been going for conservatives, right-wingers, Republicans and anyone else whose brain doesn’t explode like one of those guys from the movie Scanners at the thought of another Republican president, it’s worth noting that one of the greatest conservative victories of the last 40 years is quietly unfolding right in front of us. On March 9, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued an epochal ruling. The court found that the Second Amendment actually protects the right to bear arms for individuals..."

Quietly unfolding?

Quietly?

We've been sounding the bell, blowing the horn, storming the ramparts, and Goldberg believes this to be a quiet enterprise?

I found the link over at Pat the Yogi's joint, and was flabbergasted that a name Conservative like Jonah Goldberg would know about the DC ruling, let alone be speaking of it, but he didn't disappoint. Using arguments so tried and true they need a transfusion, Goldberg believes himself to be offering hope amidst the darkness, but we've been winning victory after victory in driving the barbarians from the gates, and if he believes us to be laurel-resting or weeping because SOME RINO or another has given up the good fight, then he's as dimwitted as he sounds. Whenever the libs go after one of our rights, not only do we fight back but become closer as one nation under God in the process of doing so. Texas has a Castle Doctrine, Florida is pushing for businesses to stop snooping into our personal vehicles, and these monumental victories go unnoticed but let SOMETHING happen in D.C., and the formerly clueless hop aboard the bandwagon as if they know anything about whats been going on.

Yes, the D.C. ruling was interesting, Jonah. Not that you had a bloody thing to do with it, or will be making those calls and sending those emails and attending those meetings, so guess what?

Not that the fight is over, but we've been kicking some moonbat butt, Jonah, and are quite happy with most of the results that WE'VE been a part of.

Repeal the 2nd? Are you insane?

Psst...Jonah? The revolution would begin in earnest, pal. You appear to have less than a hope of understanding since you broach the subject as if it were possible, so now do us all a favor and pay some attention next time you think you've discovered the Philosophers Stone of Freedom, okay? We are becoming more united each and every day, and even this monstrously inane essay of yours will serve to kindle additional interest in those wishing to become men again.

NRA News

"This week, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.) introduced S. 1001, the Senate version of the “District of Columbia Personal Protection Act,” with 41 original cosponsors. Like its House counterpart -- H.R. 1399, introduced on March 8, by U.S. Representatives Mike Ross (D-Ark.) and Mark Souder (R-Ind.) -- the Senate legislation seeks to restore the constitutionally-guaranteed Second Amendment rights of the residents of the District of Columbia by repealing the District’s onerous gun ban.

“For more than three decades, failed gun control laws have robbed the law-abiding citizens of Washington, D.C., of their Constitutional right to protect themselves,” said NRA-ILA Director Chris W. Cox. We commend Senator Hutchison for her leadership on this issue and for her steadfast support of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. NRA asks all freedom-loving Americans to ask their Senators to vote for this bill. We will continue to work until we right this injustice in our nation’s capital.”

Please be sure to contact Senator Hutchison and thank her for sponsoring this important legislation, and for her support of our Second Amendment rights.

Also, please continue to contact your U.S. Senators and your U.S. Representative and ask them to cosponsor and support H.R. 1399 and S. 1001. And please encourage your family, friends, and fellow firearm owners to do the same."

I really do have to go through the NRA updates and remove an awful lot of exclamation points that make it appear grade school cartoonish. Regardless of the NRA's propensity to golly-gee, hats off to the Senator's with guts.

Those Wacky Israeli's And Their Special Ammo

Needle Bullet: This type of bullet is sensitive to body temperature, exploding just before they enter the body as the outside heat of the body triggers them. These small multi-fragments enter the body and are not easily located. In addition, once located they are difficult to remove as these are quite slippery and tiny, and when stretching the skin or muscle to remove, they disappear deeper into the body making it more difficult to extricate. EMS medical personnel have often times reported that they were unable to remove all the fragments from cases with needle bullet injuries.

Micro Ammo. These are small bullets dispensed at high velocity, so the injured may not be aware immediately that they have sustained an injury as they would with a regular bullet. The injury is felt when person attempts to move or walk. These bullets are also capable of penetrating bone area. Lightweight and its shape facilities its movement under the skin or muscle, and the more the intrusive micro munition moves, the more it damages capillaries and tissue.

Let me make it perfectly clear that I've never used such munitions. Never shot someone using rounds that make the wound impossible to treat without sophisticated medical equipment, and by its very nature a dead giveaway as to who shot whom. And by the by, I haven't the foggiest of whatever it is the Red Crescent may or may not be babbling about, but just as virtually every modern army has specialty weapon systems and munitions, so do the Jews. Our own special forces are pretty much free to use whatever they wish, because for them, we disregard various "Conventions" that we never really signed on to anyway. Nuff said as I really don't want to get into it any further.

Julie Does Vannity

First off, lets start by agreeing that the President is the single most powerful politician in the country. If we cannot, then perhaps you're better served moving on over to one of the big blogs that portrays a chief executive as powerless, as an excuse for why Bush hasn't stepped up to the plate more often.

This is the man you'd like to see in charge? As the most powerful man in America?

HANNITY: Let me move on. And the issue of guns has come up a lot. When people talk about Mayor Giuliani, New York City had some of the toughest gun laws in the entire country. Do you support the right of people to carry handguns?

GIULIANI: I understand the Second Amendment. I support it. People have the right to bear arms. When I was mayor of New York, I took over at a very, very difficult time. We were averaging about 2,000 murders a year, 10,000...

HANNITY: You inherited those laws, the gun laws in New York?

GIULIANI: Yes, and I used them. I used them to help bring down homicide. We reduced homicide, I think, by 65-70 percent. And some of it was by taking guns out of the streets of New York City.

So if you're talking about a city like New York, a densely populated area like New York, I think it's appropriate. You might have different laws other places, and maybe a lot of this gets resolved based on different states, different communities making decisions. After all, we do have a federal system of government in which you have the ability to accomplish that.

HANNITY: So you would support the state's rights to choose on specific gun laws?

GIULIANI: Yes, I mean, a place like New York that is densely populated, or maybe a place that is experiencing a serious crime problem, like a few cities are now, kind of coming back, thank goodness not New York, but some other cities, maybe you have one solution there and in another place, more rural, more suburban, other issues, you have a different set of rules.

HANNITY: But generally speaking, do you think it's acceptable if citizens have the right to carry a handgun?

GIULIANI: It's not only -- I mean, it's part of the Constitution. People have the right to bear arms. Then the restrictions of it have to be reasonable and sensible. You can't just remove that right. You've got to regulate, consistent with the Second Amendment.

HANNITY: How do you feel about the Brady bill and assault ban?

GIULIANI: I was in favor of that as part of the crime bill. I was in favor of it because I thought that it was necessary both to get the crime bill passed and also necessary with the 2,000 murders or so that we were looking at, 1,800, 1,900, to 2,000 murders, that I could use that in a tactical way to reduce crime. And I did.

Amazing. Lots and lots of murders in NYC because of assault-weapons, right, Rudi?

Anyone want to wager on Julie Annie having the slightest idea of what an assault-weapon even IS? And if taking guns off the streets is so important, then why not disarm the ones who carry them the most. Beg pardon? The police are better than us and deserve the right to defend themselves?

The Constitution listed all of those rights in order to protect us from the sort of government Julie espouses, but he's all in favor of appointing Conservative judges who would protect and defend it even as he disregards it.

The man gives clueless a whole new meaning.

How Can the Largest Tax Hike in History . . .

by @ 9:56 am. Filed under ACLU, War On Terror, Politics As Usual

Crossposted at Church and State

". . . Not be a tax hike? Yesterday, the House passed a new budget which the Heritage Foundation refers to as “a study in fiscal irresponsibility.” Though Democrats, not surprisingly, claim the bill does not “raise taxes,” it does allow the President’s wildy popular tax cuts to expire, resulting in a massive $400 billion tax increase for Americans over the next five years. Those with the lowest incomes will shoulder the biggest tax burdens."

Messenger Caveat: The above story does include a comment from Captain Ed, but nothings perfect.

Democrats and taxes. Perfect together. How ELSE are they going to fund all of those entitlement giveaways?

Disturbing Thought

Would those Brits have decided to fight the pirates disguised as moslems from Iran rather than surrender if there wasn't a girl in their party? Tell the truth, I'd have been hard pressed to engage an enemy if I knew that after I fell, a woman was to go down right behind me. Just glad I was never placed in such a situation, and lets hope that the early reports of her being in charge were wrong. Leaders don't weep on camera and play dress-up. Under ANY circumstances.

Seattle-Area Pedophile Has 'How-to' Web Site for Men Seeking Little Girl Activities

SEATTLE — A Web site created by a pedophile is a virtual "how-to" manual, complete with the best places in western Washington state to see little girls, and tips on how to avoid getting caught by the police.

The site, titled "Seattle-Tacoma-Everett Girl Love," has been around for a few years. The police know all about it, yet they say they can't shut it down because the site is legal.

"As disturbing and offensive as we find this, there's no evidence of a crime, or even suspicion of illegal activity," said Rebecca Hover of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Department.

The man who runs it, 45-year-old Jack McClellan, has never been convicted of a sex crime, which means he can attend any family-friendly events where children are present, and take all the pictures he wants for his Web site. He also lives close to a school bus stop.

McClellan says his purpose is to promote association, friendship and legal, consensual hugging and cuddling between men and pre-pubescent girls. He admitted to FOX News that his "age of attraction" is between 3 and 11 years old.

"I guess the main thing is I just think they're cute, a lot cuter than women. I admit there is kind of an erotic arousal there," McClellan said.

...McClellan wants to bring pedophiles out of the closet and give them a way to get some relief, by going out and being around little girls. He suggests a number of places, such as plays at elementary schools, parks, swimming pools and libraries.

...McClellan said that for pedophiles, just being around children is almost like a "legal high" that makes them happy..."

It was only a matter of time. Emboldened by gay right victories, other sickos are crawling out from under the rocks and how soon before the likes of Nancy Pelosi or Teddy Kennedy start petitioning for Pedo-Rights? Until a legitimate cure can be found, these sick bastards should be in one of two places. Jail or tomb. Sorry if that offends anyone, but as an adult its my job to protect children, all children, and we need to keep as close an eye on these creatures as possible. One cannot STOP being a pedophile any easier than some other whackjob can stop being gay, but at least those pervs get their jollies from other adults.

Duh

Husband kills wife's lover; wife charged

Huh?

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- "Darrell Roberson came home from a card game late one night to find his wife rolling around with another man in a pickup truck in the driveway.

Caught in the act with her lover, Tracy Denise Roberson -- thinking quickly, if not clearly -- cried rape, authorities say. Her husband pulled a gun and killed the other man with a shot to the head.

On Thursday, a grand jury handed up a manslaughter indictment -- against the wife, not the husband.

The grand jury declined to charge the husband with murder, the charge on which he was arrested by police.

When Tracy Roberson cried that she was being raped, LaSalle tried to drive away and her husband drew the gun he happened to be carrying and fired several shots at the truck, authorities said."

Dismiss the "rolling around with another man", after understanding that this IS an AP story and most likely written by someone from Bangladesh or some other dirty place.

Being perfectly honest, I doubt a firearm would come into play unless I became aware of a weapon, as I'm old fashioned and would prefer beating the son of a bitch to death. Then again, in this particular instance the man was driving away, so I most likely would have drawn and fired as well, then felt sort of sad upon learning he was innocent.

Mess with another mans women at your peril. Bottom line is, he didn't deserve to die for it.

Nancy Off To Pay Homage To Women Haters

"The speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, is to visit Syria early next week despite objections by the White House.

Ms Pelosi will lead a delegation from US Congress for talks with officials.

She will be the most senior member of Congress to visit Syria since relations between the two countries soured.

Washington withdrew its ambassador to Damascus two years ago after the murder of former Lebanese PM Rafik Hariri, in which Syria denies any involvement.

This is a country that is a state sponsor of terror, one that is trying to disrupt the Siniora government in Lebanon
White House spokeswoman
Dana Perino

The BBC's Vanessa Heaney in Washington says Nancy Pelosi's second trip to the Middle East this year shows she has no intention of letting President Bush dominate foreign policy."

This is all the dems are good for. Bowing to an enemy, and it's hilarious that Pelosi would select a certified women-hating nation to drop to her knees for. Wonder if she'll be forced to wear a burqa...

Kids Have Sex In Classroom

SPEARSVILLE, La. (AP) -- "Two fifth-graders had sex on a classroom floor while two others fondled each other in the classroom, according to a teacher at Spearsville High School.

Union Parish Superintendent Judy Mabry would say only that the allegations were being investigated; Principal Frank Futch said the incident was not indicative of how the school is run.

First-year teacher Michael Walker, who teaches fifth- through eighth-grade English, said three students were either expelled or sent to an alternative school and two others got detention.

Students at the kindergarten through 12th grade school are unruly, disrespectful and rarely disciplined, Walker said.

"They cuss at the teachers and throw things at them, and nothing is done," Walker said. "There was even one student who grabbed a teacher in the butt and nothing was done. The students run the school."

Walker said teachers learned Wednesday about the incident, which allegedly occurred during an assembly Tuesday to talk about a 15-year-old student accused of stabbing another student to death over the weekend.

Sheriff Bob Buckley said charges are likely. "I have zero tolerance for drugs, violence or anything like that that goes on in school," he said."

5th grade. We're talking 10-11 years old. I do suppose these animals begin rutting at a far earlier stage in their development than true homo sapien. Not like anything resembling a brain is truly necessary for reproduction, so why not. Gotta love the public school system. Baby factory's for the welfare set.

Witness The Poor Workman As He Blames The Tools

"During the spring of his sophomore year in high school here, Jeffrey Johnson took the standardized tests that Florida requires for promotion and graduation. He scored in the 93rd percentile in reading and the 95th in math. That same semester, he earned straight A’s.

Two years later, in May 2006, Jeffrey was about to graduate summa cum laude, having received a full college scholarship. Days before commencement, at the age of 17, he was shot to death at a party during an argument about his car. His graduation mortarboard was found near his body.

For Paul Moore, who had taught Jeffrey in an advanced social studies class at Miami Carol City Senior High School, a terrible question began to emerge. It all turned on the concept on accountability. Jeffrey had proved accountable to the state by passing the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. But what about the accountability the state had to keep Jeffrey alive?

Jeffrey was the third Carol City student shot to death during the 2005-6 academic year. By the first semester of this year, two more had been killed in gun violence. It was then that Mr. Moore decided to do something more than deliver eulogies, visit weeping parents and initiate class discussions about all the senseless death.

He drafted a petition, expressing his righteous anger. (“Anger” indeed was the word, for it derives from the Norse “angr,” which means grief at the wrongness in the world.) The petition appealed to the newly elected governor, Charlie Crist, to “make Florida’s schools and the communities around them ‘measurably’ safer” and it concluded, “You are accountable to us for it!”

In the past month, several thousand people have signed the petition. It is not being forwarded, in the modern way, on the Internet. Instead, volunteers take paper versions into classes, churches, offices; a copy even turned up among some teachers in Chicago. Mr. Moore’s words have reached to the heart of something.

Jeffrey Johnson was shot with a Tec-9 semiautomatic, a weapon that it had been illegal to manufacture for a decade under the federal assault-weapons ban. Congress let the ban expire in September 2004. For its part, Florida has no state restriction on the sale or possession of such arms and is unlikely to pass one.

It was one of the first states in the nation to adopt a law allowing individuals to carry concealed handguns, and two years ago it enacted what is known as the “Stand Your Ground” law, permitting a person to preemptively “use deadly force” against any perceived threat of attack."

Yes. This is from the NY Times. Blaming a crappy gun that happens to look really cool, and therefore HAD to be an assault weapon. The weepy family asking Florida to be held accountable because a criminal used a gun to kill their son.

Don't dare blame the criminal. Don't ask why such scumdogs are allowed to break the law again and again.

Blame Florida for allowing its citizens to defend themselves. And the dumbest thing, well, one of the dumbest because this IS a Times article, is the fact that neither poor Jeffrey nor his sniffling Dad had the manliness to own a firearm and protect themselves.

What a concept, eh? Taking charge of your own life and liberty and family. Far better to ask for entitlements, isn't it? To point the finger at a gun so badly made that the manufacturer went out of business long before the Assault Weapon Ban went the way of the Dodo. It wasn't bad because it did anything particularly evil, mind you. It was bad because it was heavy and clunky and not enough folks found it to shoot straight enough to bother with.

And damn if I don't wish that I didn't sell the one I had because it didn't do anything particularly well EXCEPT piss off liberals, and for that alone it deserves a place in any grown mans gun cabinet.

Resident faces murder charges after house break-in

No, thankfully NOT here in the states. Not as if the democrats don't wish that they could better protect their constituency, but the new media coupled with reinvigorated patriotic Americans have been winning far more often than not.

Here. In the land of the free and the home of the brave. And it isn't corny, guys and gals. Corny is Hillary RodHam donning black-voice and preaching to minority members in Alabama. WE the people don't fight and die to protect corny old broads who wish to be Queen.

Read the following, and there, but for the grace of God and the blood of heroes, go we...

"A Cape Town resident will face a murder charge after shooting a robber in his home yesterday, in apparent self defence.

Police spokesperson Elliot Sinyangana says that the incident took place at 3am yesterday morning at the owner’s house in Buxton Avenue, Oranjezicht.

The owner heard noises and was woken up. It is believed that the burglar gained entry through an upstairs bathroom window.

The 55-year-old man told the Cape Argus that he heard scratching at the side of his house and shortly afterwards saw the suspect through his bedroom keyhole, walking up the stairs.

The resident apparently took his firearm from his dresser confronted the man and told him to go downstairs. He then made the intruder sit down.

While contacting the police the unarmed suspect allegedly attacked the man and this is when the owner shot the suspect in the chest."

And Now For Something Really Important

Seems like each and every time I venture into anything reporting upon fashion trends, the startling conclusion has been reached that the miniskirt is "back". A leisurely jaunt through any large city on a gorgeous spring day will provide ample glances at long lean legs, but I do believe I've discovered why fashionistas claim this to be an on again, off again occurrence.

It's because such sightings are location-specific. Downtown Chicago? With THEM moose's? Forget about it. Certain NYC neighborhoods? Chrissake, but all a girl has to do is appear to be even the least bit thin and politicians...and Rosie O'Donnell...want to make it illegal for fashion shows to employ skinny models. LA? Frisco?

Please now. Women in skirts bespeaks a certain amount of class, and don't look to the Left Coast for anything even close to that.

I like the mini. Always have, always will. It's alive and kicking and worn by any woman NOT a minority member and by that I'm referring to gals UNDER 200 pounds.

Bloomy Will Pay The "Poor" To Act Civilized

"Here's a look at some of the cash rewards that thousands of low-income families could receive from the Bloomberg administration:

  • $25 for every two months that grade school students attend class regularly.
  • $50 for every two months that high school students attend class regularly.
  • $200 to $300 for parents of children who score well or show marked improvement on standardized exams.

Mayor Bloomberg joined with philanthropists yesterday to announce details of the nation's first ever cash-incentive welfare program.

Funded by private donations, the $50 million pilot program will target 2,500 families in some of the city's poorest neighborhoods - including Harlem, Brownsville and East New York in Brooklyn, and Morris Heights, Mount Hope, East Tremont and Belmont in the Bronx.

"The stress of poverty often causes people to make decisions that are detrimental to their future," Bloomberg said yesterday at the Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center in Brooklyn.

"Struggling families are so focused on surviving today, often they can't afford to plan for tomorrow," said Bloomberg, who donated money from his private fortune to fund the program.

Families in the program will be offered cash payouts, totaling up to $5,000 a year, if they meet specific goals."

These are the "poor" that own several pets, multiple televisions, are of course hooked up with cable. Somehow, someway, these poor individuals find enough money to eat themselves into XXXL jogging suits complete with seemingly always new and expensive as hell designer-bro athletic shoes (sneakers for the un-affectated).

In every other country on the planet, such poor folken would be considered middle-class citizens of some means, but in the world of socialist welfare they're disadvantaged because...dare we say it...90% of them happen to be minorities.

So now, because they are poor and cannot think all that well, instead of penalizing them for eating themselves into oblivion and cramming that 4th or 5th pet into a small apartment, we'll talk the language they best understand by paying them off if they send their kids to school on time.

That's right. The carrot, but absolutely nothing resembling the stick. Hey, they got enough problems being poor.

Stepping Up In Caliber

Well, its been a while since I've blubbered about packing a bigger gun, but since my forays into the wet and wild prairies of Florida I do believe that a reasonably concealable Ruger Alaskan would serve well for fending off gators. Not that a hotly stoked .40 or nuked up .357 is anything to sneeze at, but the locals have been telling me that springtime is for gators to awaken and fatten themselves up, and I'd rather not be on the menu.

Even a snubby .44 mag outguns the hottest of 10mm's, so I'll be having a look at what one of the Slaughter brothers has been wanting to sell off.

Might come in handy for the Hog hunt too.

Wayne Fincher Update...Via The War On Guns

It's fitting that an update on Wayne should be our 5500th post. One milestone heralding a possible other is how I'd like to think of it as we hope and pray that Wayne's upcoming sentencing hearing will be something to cheer about.

From Wayne Fincher's daughter:

Dad saw the Probation Officer today. Don't know the results yet. The probation officer said that dad would be getting some time. She doesn't know how much as of yet. The lawyer is wanting everyone that wants to, to write letters about dad about his character. All the good things about dad. Please send them to the lawyer so she can review them and present them to the judge during the sentencing. Her address is Shannon L. Blatt 19 Court Street PO BOX 1825 Fort Smith, Ark 72902-1825 If you have already sent please send another one so the lawyer can present it to the judge. Only nice ones please. We thank you for all the help that everyone has done, all the radio programs, phone calls, letters, money, all the internet sites and all the prayers.etc. Everyone keep praying that somehow the judge will give him a light sentence or time served or no time at all. Thanks for everything. Please pass this message on to everyone you know or that knows dad. His sentencing will be 6 to 8 weeks.

Best Damned Beauty...

Fox Sports is still plugging away at selecting the Best Damned Beauty Ever, and while some of the lasses are genuinely pretty as all hells, these gals are simply too thin for my way of thinking.

Nothing wrong with skinny. Closer the bone the sweeter the meat, and all that. I just prefer 'em a tad more curvy.

As far as way pretty though, Jessica Biel gets my nod. If I weren't married, she'd be the next lucky gal.

The Only Ones Contagious Enough...

This is from CNN, so take it with a grain of salt and then some. Contagious shooting is yet another meaningless law enforcement term used to describe a me-too approach to dealing with a threat. One cop shoots, then another, then another. Like passing along a healthy yawn. Disciplined officers do not act or react in such a manner, but I guess its easier to come up with something akin to a disease rather than face the cold hard facts.

As more facts come to light, it appears that the NYC officers who fired 51 shots at a punk named Bell, may very well have done so after seeing a gun in one of the mens possession. Regardless, I'm not second guessing them here, and will not unless new evidence is introduced. Suffice to say that you or I can shoot a heck of a lot faster than the shooter in the CNN video, and spray & pray is one of the definitive reasons the police went to semi-autos to begin with so they are damned if they do and possibly dead if they do not.
CNN's Rick Sanchez takes a look at how gun technology has changed for police officers. (March 17)

And I'm going to stop at 4, because while there may very well be others deserving of such notice, I am unfamiliar with some of my newer blog friends and sorting e pluribus unum would be guesswork and I did promise to take this seriously. In my book, Ann Coulter would be #5 if she paid any attention to such things because I respect her intellect as well as her funny bone.

Forbes Backs Julie...

Gun owners finally get to see just how much of a "friend" old Steve really is.

Republican ex-mayor of New York City Rudolph Giuliani won backing for his 2008 presidential bid from billionaire publisher Steve Forbes, who will also help lead his campaign, Giuliani's team said.

Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes Magazine which publishes an annual list of the world's richest people, will act as co-chair on the national campaign and as senior policy advisor to Giuliani, who is favorite to win his party's nomination for the presidency early next year.

"Sorry, Steve. Back when you were campaigning, you touted yourself as a friend of gun owners.

You've just shown us you consider us unimportant and expendable if abandoning us will help advance your true priorities."

Thanks to The War on Guns where David had the above to say about turncoat Steve, and lets face it; the guy looks so weird it was dollars to doughnuts he WAS. I fully understand the fact that the Forbes beancounters grabbed ugly Stevey by the collar and told him to start funneling some cash into the Julie Annie coffers, and by doing so hitch his wagon to what appears to be a rising star, but sorry, Mr. Forbes...

Rudi is anti-2nd Amendment, anti-life, pro-gay, and has zip-zilch on his resume with regards to international relations. Yes, the Mayor of NYC has more on his plate than most Governors do, but being tough on crime shouldn't be the single deciding factor in selecting a CHIEF EXECUTIVE.

Worst part of it all?

All Julie had to do was admit that what was good for NYC isn't necessarily whats good for the country. He could have, and believably so, told us that NY was in such a mess that he was forced into employing draconian measures to clean it up, and we'd have welcomed him with open arms.

But he didn't. He didn't because he truly believes that nary a one of us can be trusted with running our own lives, and THAT is what being the Mayor of NY did to him. Surrounded by a welfare state, more criminals than could be counted, a corrupt police department, welfare rolls threatening to reach the heavens, the guy just lost faith in his fellow man. Case closed. In Rudi's world, only the SPECIAL PEOPLE really count, and I pity the country that votes this man into the Oval Office.

Kidnapped Brit Confesses

"Her blond hair is concealed by an Iranian head scarf. Her smoking reveals her nervousness. And when the captured British sailor admits she "trespassed" into Iranian waters, there is fear in her eyes.

Faye (Topsy) Turney has become a pawn in a high-stakes diplomatic standoff - and the face of British impotence in the wake of the latest Iranian outrage.

In chilling footage released yesterday, the lone woman among the 15 British sailors and marines seized last week praises her captors as "very friendly and very hospitable, very thoughtful, nice people."

"Obviously, we trespassed into their waters," Turney says, dressed in a white tunic against a floral-pattered curtain backdrop. "They explained to us why we've been arrested; there was no harm, no aggression."

Before the video was broadcast, a spokesman for British Prime Minister Tony Blair warned that any attempt to humiliate the captives by putting them on display would be a breach of the Geneva Conventions.

The Iranians did it anyway.

State TV also broadcast footage of the 26-year-old mother eating with her fellow captives, as well as a shot of the Brits sitting helplessly in an Iranian boat immediately after their capture in the Persian Gulf..."

The moslems decided to pick on a little girl, and not having seen the video it is impossible to determine if she tried to pass along any coded information that would communicate her being coerced into offering so shameful an apology. Military personnel only participate in such goings on if their lives have been threatened, and it will be interesting to listen to what she and the others have to say after their release.

Isn't enough to kidnap people, the moslems also wish to thoroughly humiliate them, and where are all of the apologists for islam? How about the moderates?

Cop Shot In Ankle Released From Hospital

"The gunman who fired a bullet into the ankle of the Brooklyn cop on Tuesday is a Bloods gang member with a long rap sheet, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

The illegal weapon he fired is a 45-year-old semiautomatic pistol from Spain that was in "pristine condition," the commissioner said.

Luckily for Mangra, the relic misfired after the gunman shot one round at the officer at a Park Slope intersection, authorities said. The suspect, Kingsley Newland, 28, had just left the New Directions drug treatment center on Flatbush Ave. when Mangra and his partner, Erik Merizelde, 26, spotted him smoking pot on nearby Dean St. and pursued him, court records show.

A struggle ensued and Newland - who has at least seven other arrests for drug crimes in Brooklyn - grabbed the .22-caliber from behind his back and fired once at Mangra before the gun was wrestled away, police said.

"I was just hoping things would work out good," Merizelde said as he stood beside Mangra's wheelchair outside the hospital. "That was the only thing on my mind, that we both came out good from that situation.

"I'm just thankful I'm alive and my partner's okay."

Doctors removed most of the bullet that fractured the NYPD officer's fibula, and he is expected to make a full recovery, Bloomberg said.

The mayor said the latest shooting of a police or auxiliary officer - the fifth this month - is a reminder that the city's streets are overrun with illegal guns."

Mike? Admitting that the city's streets are overrun with criminals is one of the dumbest things that any Mayor could possibly utter, but your penchant for saying the stupid precedes you. Time now to fess up as to why, during your watch, crime has become such a problem, and what you intend to do in order to solve the problem of dope dealers, drug addicts, villains thieves and scoundrels owning the streets.

Kudos to the officer for putting a thug behind bars. As for the .22 Llama being in pristine condition, then why did it jam after one shot?

Do I sense that the Bloomberg Boondoggle is now preparing to declare war against Spain?

He's done dumber.

Ann Coulter Is Sick Of All Of This Apologizing...

"When will Republicans learn to stop apologizing?

The Bush administration is embroiled in the most ridiculous non-scandal scandal in human history — set off when the administration stupidly apologized for firing its own employees.

U.S. attorneys are political appointees who serve at the pleasure of the president. The president may fire them for any reason at all. That includes not implementing the president's policy about criminal prosecutions. It also includes being in the way of someone else whom the president wants to appoint for patronage reasons.

Why wasn't a fuss made when Bush fired Donald Rumsfeld? He is every bit as much a political appointee as the U.S. attorneys are.

Democrats have the breathtaking audacity to claim that Bush's replacing his own political appointees is "politicizing prosecutions."

They say this as Sandy Berger walks free after stealing and destroying top-secret national security documents — but Lewis "Scooter" Libby faces decades in prison for )not outing a covert agent. (Let's hope he's learned his lesson!)

They say this as Rep. William "The Refrigerator" Jefferson sits on the Homeland Security Committee while waiting for the $100,000 found in his freezer to thaw — but Tom DeLay remains under an indictment by some hick prosecutor in Texas for an alleged accounting violation.

They say this as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid draws interest on the sale of a property he sold in a complicated land swindle — but American hero Randy "Duke" Cunningham rots in prison.

They say this while Sen. Chuck Schumer pays no price whatsoever for his Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee having illegally obtained a copy of Republican Lt. Gov. Michael Steele's credit report, for which one employee, Lauren Weiner, pleaded guilty, but served no prison time.

They say this while Sen. Teddy Kennedy is still at large (and getting larger).

Democrats have created a world in which a DNC card is a "get out of jail free" card, and "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt" means "no doubt the defendant is Republican." (If Democrats keep this up, they'll have to rethink their push to give inmates the right to vote.)

Then they turn around and say Republicans are "politicizing prosecutions" by firing their own employees. And all Republicans can do is apologize.

I refuse to parse the inane allegations the Democrats are making, to point out that Clinton's wholesale firing of Republican U.S. attorneys was worse, or to mention that some of these U.S. attorneys should have been fired a long time ago (Carol Lam).

Bush should say: "We did it, it was political, and there's nothing you can do about it."

Couldn't agree with you more, Ann. Problem is, President Bush has this gentleman-syndrome that he can't seem to shake. Someone says there's two- sides to a story and there he goes paying attention and trying to get to the bottom of things. When BJ Willy and The Oval Orifice were running the show, they'd up and fire anyone they damned well pleased, then come right out and say that sure it isn't fair, but we need to hurt you before we can help you, and the liberals went wild in the streets chanting their names.

They are crude, disgusting, and for the most part unwashed masses of what wouldn't be clean enough to refer to as an oozing HIV-bloodsore. Not that we've never seen the likes of such creatures before, either. But back then we called them Neanderthal and drove them off of cliffs to purge the world of lesser beings. Now we send them either to Hollywood or Washington because they do put on one helluva, albeit revolting, show.

Can't DEAL with subhumans, Ann. Can't eat them either because of all of those salmonella worries, so we're stuck at least for the time being.

Oh yeah, and PS: Listen. Hear that? It's the RINO's weeping yet again because a girl said some bad things about liberals.

Hi, I Just Was Wondering What Your Corporate Stance Was On Concealed Carry In Your Stores...

Compliments Of Cowboy Blob

Begging Your Pardon Whilest I Heave. Usually Referred To As "We Get Letters"

Dear Fellow Conservative,

I am writing on behalf of John McCain 2008, to give you an update on Senator John McCain's presidential campaign and to seek your involvement. I'll get to the specific way you can get involved at this important point in the campaign in just a minute.

First, I'm happy to report to you that John is earning the support of dedicated Republicans like you every day. To me the reasons are clear. John McCain is the candidate in this race who shares our conservative principles and commitment to smaller government.

I chose Senator McCain for three primary reasons. 1) He is the conservative candidate I believe to be the best qualified to handle the preeminent issue of our day: national defense and homeland security. 2) I believe he has a passion and commitment to reform our failing government bureaucracies. 3) He will seek the politics of results.

Today, I am asking you to join fellow conservatives like me, my fellow Mississippian, Senator Trent Lott, Senator John Thune, Governor Tim Pawlenty and many others in endorsing John McCain for President.

John will work to ensure that money spent by Congress is used wisely and prudently on legitimate national priorities and not squandered on wasteful pet projects and special interest earmarks. Along with wise and prudent spending, he'll push for intelligently-formulated tax cuts and sensible tax reform.

On the issues that define our culture, John McCain shares our conservative values on protecting marriage and the life of the unborn child. He believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman. Furthermore, John opposes the intentional creation of human embryos for research purposes.

When it comes to protecting America, John McCain will strengthen the military; shore up our alliances; and ensure that the nation is capable of protecting the homeland, deterring potential military challenges, responding to any crisis that endangers American security, and prevailing in any conflict we are forced to fight.

As I said before, the reasons why dedicated Republicans are supporting John McCain for President are clear. I also mentioned that there is a specific way that you can get involved at this crucial point in the presidential campaign.

The deadline to file our first FEC financial report for 2007 is fast approaching on March 31st. You've followed campaigns long enough to know that the media and the political pundits will look at this report to determine just where our campaign is compared to the other candidates in the race. This is how they will judge the financial and political momentum behind the McCain campaign.

So please click on this link to make a secure, online contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, or $1,000 that will help us show the strength of our campaign.

As I close this update, I want to remind you of a thought that John shares with folks across the country. "To sacrifice for a cause greater than yourself, and to sacrifice your life to the eminence of that cause, is the noblest activity of all."

This is your chance to assist in an effort greater than yourself and make America stronger in the future.

Sincerely,

Florida HB 1417* Passes Through Committee...

A major victory, now on for a full vote.

The finger pointing went on all this week, as "Corporate Giants" let the dogs out in an attempt to cow fence-sitting "Republicans", and visions of all of that payoff, strike that, campaign contribution money being flushed down the drain was nearly too much for our weak need brethren to bear.

What broke the camels back was certain of us demanding to know who these entities in fact were, and guess what? The presumption is that they blinked when faced with having their identities revealed, and its not like we don't have a good idea but Round 1 went to the good guys.

Senators voting yes:

Sen. Nancy Argenziano (R) Chair (850) 487-5017

Sen. Victor Crist (R) (850) 487-5068

Sen. Mandy Dawson (D) (850) 487-5112

Sen. Jim King (R) (850) 487-5030

Sen. Evelyn Lynn (R) (850) 487-5033

Sen. Frederica Wilson (D) (850) 487-5166

Sen. Steve Wise (R) (850) 487-5027

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Two democrats, both female, voted YES. Then again, and Miami notwithstanding, being a "liberal" in Florida means you prefer lethal injection to hanging.

Bloomy Responds To Critics Of Republican Convention

By MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG

Bloomberg: Learned from Seattle's failures.
Bloomberg: Learned from Seattle's failures.
Story Bottom

March 28, 2007 -- EDITOR'S NOTE: Below are remarks the mayor prepared for delivery to the media yesterday.

"THE 2004 Republican National Convention was the largest event the city had held since 9/11. We were very concerned that we would be a target for potential terrorists or others intent on causing disruptions."

Wowsers. To this very day I didn't know that NYC held an event on 9/11, all the while believing that it was a terrorist attack.

Under normal circumstance, Mikey, I could care less if you and your goons masquerading as law enforcement busted the chops of every last liberal idiot in or about the city during the Convention, but you see, Mickey, you've gotten a truly bad rep, fella. A well deserved one though, and therein lies the rub. You, for example, hire private investigators to try and scam gunstores, hoping beyond hope that someone somewhere doesn't cross that T, or dot the old i so that you might then send in sworn peace officers to arrest them.

You're a thug, Mikey. You break the law when it suits you, and this makes people nervous so of course people take a damned closer look at your shenanigans. There's a special word used to describe someone who travels about with an armed escort while prohibiting his subjects from doing the same, Mikey.

King.

Sure, our gals love all this royalty schtick, but enough is enough.

The Only Ones Girls Gone Wild Enough

March 28, 2007 -- "Fire Island's Ocean Beach is a lawless site of cops "gone wild," the district attorney claimed yesterday, warning that several officers - and even the mayor - could be charged in a massive scandal in which police allegedly roughed up tourists, had sex on duty and dumped evidence.

Suffolk County DA Thomas Spota's made the shocking announcement that he was further probing the troubled police force as four of its members were being arraigned for allegedly brutalizing a Manhattan businessman in their custody two years ago.

"It was a police department gone wild," Spota said at Suffolk County Supreme Court in Riverhead. "I think there was no control at all."

Acting Police Chief George Hesse, 38, yesterday was arraigned on the most serious charge of first-degree assault in the case of 31-year-old Manhattanite Samuel Gilberd, who claims he was stomped unconscious after he threw a beer bottle outside a bar in Ocean Beach, a popular Fire Island tourist town.

Prosecutors say Gilberd suffered a ruptured bladder and internal urine leakage after two other officers dragged him to the back of the station house for Hesse to assault.

The DA says Gilberd was left lying on a floor for hours before the cops allowed a medical team to evacuate him by helicopter to the hospital.

Another officer is alleged to have watched the assault without offering assistance.

Spota said yesterday the department and village officials, including the mayor, could face charges related to additional brutality cases and possible cover-ups in Ocean Beach.

The irate DA slammed police brass and local politicos for quietly handling several complaints over the years without taking action to reform the department.

The four cops, who made no comment yesterday, were backed up in court by dozens of supporters, including Ocean Beach Mayor Joseph Loeffler.

Spota said he'd possibly file charges against Loeffler for any role in cover-ups regarding police wrongdoing.

"Village officials had their heads in the sand," Spota said.

The court crowd included two former Ocean Beach cops, who have sued the department for $345 million, claiming Hesse wrongfully fired them for blowing the whistle on misconduct.

Former Officer Kevin Lamm said outside of court that he witnessed on-duty drinking and sexual activity, routine destruction of evidence and unwarranted beatings of detainees.

Lamm said he and other officers were instructed to ferry superiors to the homes of various women for sexual trysts.

"He is a disgrace to the uniform," Lamm said of Hesse.

At the arraignment, Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Robert Biancavilla said Gilberd was dragged to a station house backroom by Officers Paul Carollo, 44, and Arnold Hardman, 51. There, Hesse repeatedly stomped on his midsection, Gilberd said.

After what prosecutors said was an unnecessary delay, Gilberd was transported to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Hesse pleaded not guilty to a slew of felony counts and posted $100,000 bail yesterday.

Carollo and Hardman also pleaded not guilty to lesser counts, including unlawful imprisonment and hindering prosecution.

They each posted $10,000 bail.

Another officer, 20-year retired NYPD Sgt. William Emburey, 42, pleaded not guilty to charges that he failed to properly assist Gilberd, and posted $10,000 bail.

Hesse's attorney, William Keahon, told the court that Gilberd suffered the internal injuries after falling and hitting a piece of furniture in the station house.

He painted Gilberd as a violent drunk who trumped up the brutality charges to score a civil-suit payday.

But Spota called that version of events a "fantasy," adding that Ocean Beach cops routinely falsified documents and hindered his office's investigation into the Gilberd incident."

Another day, another small burg infected with more lawlessness from it's "protectors" than anything a criminal could imagine.

Brooklyn Cop Capped By Mousegun

"A uniformed cop was shot in the ankle by an apologetic drug suspect in Brooklyn last night, police sources said.

Officer Rory Mangra, 27, suffered a broken fibula when the bullet struck his lower right leg about 7:30 p.m. at the corner of Dean St. and Flatbush Ave. in Park Slope, police said.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shoot him," the alleged gunman, Kingsley Newland, 28, of Williamsburg, told cops.

Mangra, a former Marine and Iraq war vet, and his partner, Eric Merizelde, 26, were in uniform and driving an unmarked car when they spotted the suspect smoking marijuana outside a Dean St. beauty parlor, officials said.

Mangra stepped out of the car to approach Newland, but the suspect fled, police said. Merizelde sped ahead in the car, hopped a sidewalk and tried to block the suspect's path.

Newland dived across the hood of the car in a bid to escape, but Mangra snatched him. That's when Newland allegedly grabbed a .22-caliber semiautomatic pistol from the small of his back, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

A struggle ensued, and the suspect fired once, Kelly said, and then the gun jammed, perhaps preventing further bloodshed.

Mayor Bloomberg once again pushed to get illegal guns off the streets.

"We just have to get guns out of the hands of people with long criminal records," he said at the hospital. "Here we are again, another night, another hospital, another member of New York's Finest shot with what appears to be an illegal gun."

And here we are again, some schmuck smoking grass getting jumped by another poor schmuck following orders. The silver lining is the fact that the cop was shot by a cheap mousegun. and in 2007 just what in all hells is a "broken fibula"? Bevel fractures are common in large caliber firearms, oft times impacting bone with enough force to create secondary missiles from bone particulate itself, yet metaphyseal and diaphyseal fracture patterns differ greatly, with projectile trauma to the diaphyses in cadaver specimens differing from dry bone specimens in that there can be numerous fractures surrounding the exit with little or no fragmentation around the exit in dry bone. This is usually referred to as the "drill hole" effect, with shaft impacts of both dry and cadaver specimens comminuted with "butterfly" fragments produced bilaterally.

More than likely, the small .22 (Long Rifle I would imagine) caliber bullet did just that, as it impacted with something akin to the drill hole phenomena, and we wish the officer well in his recovery.

Now get real and decriminalize these recreational drugs that are causing untold crime and suffering throughout the country.

Pictured: NY Police Commissioner Kelly, putting on his most disgusted face as holds the icky semi-auto for all to ooh and ahh over. Gee Commish, but aren't you glad it wasn't a real gun and the lucky cop gets off with a boo-boo?

Danny DeVito On Global Warming*

So's I'm tryin to figure out whats up with this global warming, right, and there's this guy on the tube sayin that the frickin alligators in Florida are havin a tough time of it because the late winter, early spring weather has been for shit so's I call the station and he says, no asswipe, it wasn't too hot you stupid frig it was too cold.

So what do I know? Who to frigging trust, eh? Then the wife tells me that alla these dim bulbs treat us actors like shit, and that if I really wanted the scoop I should go aks another actor who had an ear to the ground. Then I says to myself, she might be right but what kinda frickin actor lives in Florida? Then holy shit but it dawns on me. What am I a fuckin loser for not rememberin that Wally Gator should know this shit or what? He was a damned star fer chrissake back then and had his own show so he's sure not gonna give me the ass right?

Turns out nobody knows from nobody who represents him and I'm sayin to myself, what kind of actor around that you can't find his agent, okay? And I'm doin this all by myself to show the little woman that I finally learned this computer shit and can look up by myself without botherin her lazy ass every other second, but this shit sucks. I find more friggin cartoons of Wally but no fuckin clue as to where he is now, and why should I frickin care where he was thirty fuckin years ago, right? Old news is old frickin news, ya know, but I sink my teeth inta this like one a them rot wile dogs with the big frickin teeth okay, man don't they scare your ass too if ya know what I mean, but still it's zilch. Yes...Ill-Annoy Has Gone And Almost Done It...

For purposes of this Act:
7 (a) "Coded" and "coded ammunition" mean a bullet carrying a
8 unique identifier that has been applied by etching the same
9 onto the base of the bullet.
10 (B) "Firearm ammunition" shall have the meaning provided in
11 Section 1.1 of the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act,
12 except that it shall not include shotgun shells or ammunition
13 designed to be used in muzzle-loading "black powder" firearms.

14 Section 10. Prohibition on sale, manufacture, or use of
15 non-coded ammunition.

In English, this means that ALL ammunition MUST have a particular serial number etched in, and this of course heralds the end of "legal" ammo sales in Ill-Annoy because what manufacturer in their right mind is going to go through this expense when all a buyer need do is ahem, find his ammo elsewhere. The bill was just introduced, but the word on the street is it has a damned good chance of passing.

And I won't even to into how ludicrous this is with regards to catching criminals, but the real reason is to keep the good citizens of this once great state disarmed so who precisely are they trying to fool.

Just the fools.

Judge pulls gun after attack on defendant

(AP) -- "A Circuit Court judge pulled a handgun in his courtroom after a man jumped a railing and punched a handcuffed defendant accused of molesting his son.

Bailiffs eventually took control of the attacker during Friday's outburst, and Circuit Judge John Merrett handed his gun to a clerk for safekeeping. The judge met with the father in his chambers and later ordered him released without bail, even though he was charged with a felony and two misdemeanors.

The man is not being named to protect the identity of his son.

Merrett said Monday he never put his finger on the trigger or pointed the gun at anyone.

Because of the way his courtroom is configured, the judge said he couldn't see the fight below his bench. He said he pulled the gun as a precaution.

''I didn't know if he was going after me or the bailiffs or the defendant,'' the judge said.

Duval County Public Defender Bill White questioned the safety of allowing judges to carry guns. He said he plans to talk to the chief judge about disarming the judges.

Merrett, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, committed no crime, State Attorney Harry Shorstein said.

Merrett was presiding over a court hearing for Derrick Kendall McNiel, 21, who has been charged with molesting a child.

A police report said the father landed several punches and threatened to kill McNiel. It took five bailiffs to restore order."

Part of me wants to applaud the judge, but most of me seethes at the fact that only certain people are allowed to protect themselves inside a court of law. Then there's the asshat Public Defender who is TELLING, sniff, on HIM!

"Govt (schools in this case) telling people what they can do on their own time. Next it will be anyone under 18, then anyone under 21 and finally everyone, for our own good. Of course."

Dontcha just love it when government gets kids to rat on parents and parents to rat on kids?

I clearly recall impatiently awaiting 1984 so as to laugh in the face of author George Orwell for being so lamebrained as to think we'd ever reach the point whereby Big Brother was reality.

Just another act of infamy courtesy of your local neighborhood liberal, and I do blame The Greatest Generation for being so very easy to hoodwink.

Chicago Stormtrooper Out Of The Frying Pan For Beating Woman...

...But into the fire...

CHICAGO — "Prosecutors dropped a misdemeanor count Tuesday against a police officer accused of beating a female bartender in an attack videotaped by a surveillance camera, leaving him still facing a felony charge.

Anthony Abbate, a 12-year police veteran, appeared before a judge for about 30 seconds as prosecutors dropped the charge of simple battery.

That count was filed after the 250-pound officer's arrest in the Feb. 19 beating of a 115-pound bartender, but prosecutors later upgraded the charges to felony aggravated battery.

An April 27 hearing was scheduled on the felony charge.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison, Cook County state's attorneys office spokesman Andy Conklin said.

The videotape shows Abbate, 38, who was off duty, punching, kicking and throwing 24-year-old bartender Karolina Obrycka to the floor after she allegedly refused to continue serving him drinks. Obrycka suffered bruises on her head, neck, back and lower body, said her attorney, Terry Ekl..."

5 minutes alone with him. I'd PAY cash money.

Senate Rejects Amendment Stripping Iraq Withdrawal Timetable From Supplemental Bill

WASHINGTON — "Senate Democrats won a vote Tuesday that would leave in place a timetable to begin a U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq within 120 days. A measure to strike the language was offered as an amendment to the emergency spending bill for Iraq and Afghanistan.

The 48-50 vote was a reversal of a 50-48 vote earlier this month rejecting a similar timetable. Democrats were able to win the support of both Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel and Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson, who previously had voted against timetables. Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas also opposed the earlier version..."

Okay stop the music. We know that all the hubbub is simply to please the MoveBowels.org loonatics as they try to turn these United States into New World France, but this is one time Bush isn't going along for the ride so let them have their Surrender-Party's and boast of how they stood up to the President.

He veto's anything remotely suggesting a timetable and its back to square one as the white flag wavers beg their pet moonbats to keep funding them even if they cannot get a damned thing done.

And hey, Chick Hagel, I've got two words for you and they ain't happy birthday you traitorous scum.

HB 1417 UPDATE

"House Bill 1417 protects you from having your private vehicle searched and from punitive action against you by anti-gun business owners who would deny you your right to have a gun in your car for protection. HB 1417 establishes penalties for these ARROGANT CORPORATIONS who think they can control what private property you have in your private vehicle."

Well I've spent the day trying to contact major businesses in northern Florida, and pretty much all of them are stonewalling.

LOEWS, Home Depot, Target, Wal-Mart, Publix, Albertson's, and others have been giving me the run-around and that leads me to believe they're dead set against HB 1417, but their employees at the local level are so very incompetent that its hard to tell.

The LOEWS Human Resource Manager flat out said that it is company policy to ban ALL firearms from entering the premises, unless they are carried by law enforcement officers. There's even a sign on the front door, the lady told me, but of course there is not, and when I asked her and the store manager to show me the sign...which wouldn't mean squat here in Florida...they huddled and said to get back to them after they've called Corporate.

Problem is, I'm not considered a journalist, and getting any of these folks to speak with me is nigh on impossible unless I happen to mistakenly bump into one while on the premises, but at least most of the businesses referred me to the infamous home office for more details, and not a single one of them professed to even knowing what in all hells HB 1417 is.

Contact the home office of any of the above, await a reply, then listen to politely offered double-speak on how all they really want to do is obey the law, and have no particular fish to fry on the matter.

And that's bullswaddle. The NRA is in crisis mode after learning that "Corporate Giants" have been strong-arming local House members, and there does not appear to be anything that can be accomplished on the local level with regards to getting these Giants to fess up.

House Bill 1417 is important to all of us, and all I ask is that Floridians contact their representatives and be heard on the matter, as the giants are playing dumb and won't admit to being anti-2nd Amendment.

Iran Testing The Waters By Kidnapping Brits...

"We may never know what actually happened. The area where the sailors were captured is at the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab, a border estuary that has caused two wars between Iran and Iraq since the 1970s. Iraq claims ownership of the entire estuary, while Iran wants it divided between the two neighbors. It is possible that the sailors thought they were in Iraqi waters while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard's Marines believed them to be on the Iranian side.

What is certain, however, is that the sailors would not have been captured without Tehran's approval at the highest level. The Brits based in Basra have often strayed into waters that Iran regards as its own; Iranians have also often passed into Iraqi waters.

In other words, these are almost daily incidents. The standard procedure is to warn the trespassers and guide them back to their own side of the water. If that procedure was abandoned this time, the reason must be someone's desire to provoke an incident.

If trespassing were the cause of the incident, one wonders why the Islamic Republic turns a blind eye to American vessels often straying into its so-called continental-shelf territorial waters. A casual boat ride in the Persian Gulf would offer the visitor countless examples of this on a daily basis..."

America, you see, has a Navy. And an Army. Airforce, etc. The poor socialist Brits have none of the above, so all they can do is come ask us for help, and this saves Iran from an immediate, on the spot, katie bar the door reprisal. Modern Brits enjoy diplomacy, too. Not that one can do all that much besides diplomacy when one is without an armed force, mind you, so it's talk, then more talk, while Iran gets to strut a muscle flex for moslems the world over to admire.

Picking on the Brits is about as low as picking on Togo.
